Adding a day but not staying the night.

I was able to add a day to my FD reservation. We live an hour from Disney but with the traffic lately it could take 2 hrs to get home. I thought I would take my time at the parks on our last day and still have a room if we want to relax before we it the rode. Or maybe just stay the night and leave at 5am and hopefully hit no traffic.

Has anyone done this paid for a night and then go home that same day. Any thoughts, because I am debating my decision?

I have not but honestly if I were you I'd just have everything packed pretty much packed up before heading to the parks that day and then stay the night and get up early to drive home.

I never thought of that. Great idea, this way I will not have to struggle the morning we leave. The price to stay the night is less then $200. Also My DH might want to come the day we were scheduled to leave. We all have to work on or new departure date. This way if he wants to go home with our DD he can. I think it will be easier for me to wake up alone at 5. No grumpy teenager to get up in that hour of the morning!!!

I've done this. We had a late flight last year - at 10pm. I had my 3-year-old son with me so we booked our room through the following morning so we could swim and he could nap, and then we could shower and relax before leaving for the airport. It was worth it, to me. I probably wouldn't have done it if I was on my own.

Not at Disney, but I've done it in Las Vegas. Eleven PM or so flight. I checked out around 8 PM, and they ended up not charging me for the night! Don't expect that from Disney, though
