adding a celebration online

One of the Facebook groups posted that you could add a birthday or celebration on mde under your resort reservation. The post said to click on modify reservation and you could do it from there. Anyone try this? I'm nervous to click on modify that I'll mess something up. So I went into mde today and I don't even have a modify link. I did before but now there is only a check in link. My trip isn't until April so it's not within the 30 days and it's a package booked directly with disney online. Weird. But just wondering if anyone has tried this. I'll probably just call and add the celebration when I call to make a room request (I'm taking my parents for their 50th anniversary) but just curious if anyone saw that Facebook post.

I didn't add the celebration so haven't seen what happens after confirming. We aren't celebrating anything on the next trip.
I have modified many reservations online.
No harm comes to the reservation.
The option to make a change does seem to come and go
