Our first time going back to WDW with the new fastpass system. We will be there in late Oct. Our fastpass window opened this weekend and we have booked several for the first few days of our trip.

I'm still learning the best ways to use this new system and have a few questions:

We will be park hopping most days. I booked Fastpass for our morning parks - we hope to arrive at RD and do a few our of favorites standby, then use our Fastpass. Just me and hubby on this trip, so we plan to take our time.

We've booked lunch at TS restaurants either in the parks or at a nearby resort. After we eat, we'll probably return to our resort (Boardwalk Inn) and hang out and then hit a second park in the early evening until closing.

It would be extremely convenient if we could have just one Fastpass for that second park - but I'm not sure how/if I can do it.

I understand that once we use our 3rd Fastpass, we can book another one. Can we do that using the MDE app on our phone? Or must we use a kisok in the park? Finally, if we use the park kisok, is it only for THAT park - i.e. - at MK in the morning, use all our Fastpass, find an MK kisok to book our 4th Fastpass for an Epcot attraction. Is that possible?

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. Yes.
4. Yes. Only AT the park for which you want to use the FP.
5. No.

This kind of information is explained in the FP+ thread found HERE. Read post #1 and #2 for FP+ recommendations and timing advice.

Unfortunately, in your hypothetical you'd have to use an Epcot kiosk. You can't book EP FP+ from a MK kiosk, and you can't book that 4th FP for EP from your phone app.

The process for getting a 4th FP+ is a major issue with the current system, IMHO, and the issue's magnified even more if you want a 4th at a different park. But it's been so long since they added 4th FP+ capability with no change that I'm afraid it'll always be this way and we'll just have to suck it up.

Thanks so much for the info - I'll be reading the FP+ thread to help with recommendations and timing and also try to learn about booking and modifying FP+. We always did very well using the old fastpass system - I'm sure there are many benefits to this new system, but I know I'll need to do some research to understand the best way to use it. So appreciate having so many Disney experts able/willing to help - thanks again!

I thought you could book on the app?

Only your preselected first 3 are done through the app. If you want extras after those first 3, then you have to go to a FP kiosk within the park

Here is another question regarding the 4th, 5th, add'l FP+ from a kiosk. Sorry if this was asked elsewhere, there are like 500 threads alone for FP+ and over like 2,000 posts, just can't read them all.

I know you can ONLY get the 4th on from the Kiosk, but I read that some people are frustrated as they wait in a line to get these additional FP's only to find out they are for the non FP needed rides. Can you use the App or some other way, to see what rides have FP's left, to avoid waiting for no reason?

I understand that more than like the rides that really need a FP for are probably gone day of, but just for the sake of checking, does anyone know if checking the APP or some other way will show what's left?

Thanks lots - can't wait. 2 Last minute trips planned for the next 2 months!

Agreed.

BUT-
Once you DO book a 4th (or 5th, or 6th, etc.) FP+ at an in-park KIOSK,
you can MODIFY that kiosk-made FP+ from your mobile device via the App or the website.

Again, read through Booking and Modifying FP+ found HERE and HERE.

Can you modify to another park?

The OP could take monorail to EPCOT, book a FP as they walk through EP back to their hotel for their break. That's what I would do, unless there's a FP kiosk in the WS and it would be quicker to walk from the hotel to the kiosk. (Could do the same with HS and walk back to BWI from HS for break).

There is a FP+ kiosk at Epcot's International Gateway.

Guests can ask the Concierge at their WDW resort to make a 4th FP+ reservation for them.

Hmm, guess Disney doesn't want to encourage that 4th fast pass - and especially if you are going to another park later that day??? Years ago, "park hopping" was always included with multi-day tickets. With the new pricing structure, lots of people opt for one park/one day. Saves money - and for many families, that's a better way to tour the parks. So I don't think there would be large numbers of guests that want to book that 4th Fastpass at a different park. Don't understand why they won't allow it to be made from either the app - or even at a kiosk at another park.

Good suggestions to either ask the Concierge for help or use the FP+ kiosk at WS when we return to the Boardwalk Inn. Though I understand it's highly possible that all FP for Test Track will already be gone. Generally, we don't go to a park on the days when they have EMH - but maybe we'll try one of the late nights at Epcot. I know you can't get Fastpass then - perhaps the lines won't be that bad??? Or is that just wishful thinking?!! We'll be there at the end of October.

We usually have excellent luck with PM EMH at MK (the later at night it begins, the fewer the guests,) and MK has a LOT of attractions open to spread the crowd.

The situation at Epcot is that PM EMH begins at 9PM (IllumiNations runs through the first quarter hour of that) and then ends at 11PM.
That's not very late, so many guests can stay up for the whole EMH.
Couple that with very few "rides" at Epcot, and you've got a recipe for some longer lines.
