Addicted to AKL Concierge - oh no

We had a spectacular trip and I admit I was not as excited about this trip as I usually am. I wasn't sure whether the location would be too remote or if I would like the atmosphere and theme. Also the advance "hype" from every single friend - I was sure this would be a jinxed trip. Well no worries - the CMs were fantastic, the experience was wonderful. We participated in the Sunrise Safari (Vicki was the guide) and the delicious
breakfast at Tusker House. We came home addicted to the smoothies and those cinnamon chips in the lounge.

We never never thought of using our DVC points at a Disney Hotel especially with AP rates etc HOWEVER (notice the big letters) after our recent trip we just may consider it. Having written that I am still in shock. We can't wait to go back and visit.

p.s. I know that they have heard about the Dis Boards so just in case - A big Hi and thank you to Lee in Valet/Bell Services! The ladies (and gents) of concierge - You ROCK! Juanita my daughter thinks that you are wonderful. Thank you for getting the special pen for her to sign her card.

Just enjoyed a week there last month. I'm also a DVC member. Did one week at BWV and one week at AKL CL. The spa services there a wonderful - facials and massages terrific.

Thanks, Bella! It's always great to hear people knocked off their socks. We have an upcoming split stay - 5 nights at POR followed by a splurge at AKL CL for 2 nights. I can't wait. Just noticed my counter has dipped into the 60s -- woohoo!

Question for Bella2000,
I have a savannah room booked for our stay in Nov.2004. I am really thinking on calling up and trying to get conceige since I read so much good things about it. My ? is, do you get a savannah view being on the conceige floor. and if you did do you get a good view of the savannah?

politely butting in...

savannah view concierge rooms are NOT guaranteed...you can request it...but there ARE some concierge rooms that are pool view.

we've stayed AKL CL twice, both on the 5th floor, arusha savannah view - loved it!

There are only six rooms facing the pool at CL, from what I understand, and they're smoking rooms...so your chances are great, though. I've been told over and over again not to worry about it, even told my IPO that I'd downgrade if necessary....
