We decided 150 points weren't enough so today we did an add-on and we haven't even closed on the first!
We were still able to get the F&F deal so that was sweet! We were able to still get it because we hadn't closed. We did a seperate contract for 60 more points so now we have 210.

This is fun! LOL

I have been thinking about doing this too. We just got our paper back yesterday saying we were approved for financing. Can I still add on under F&F? When does one exactly close? We sent the paper work back to them on February 7th.

Thanks!

That was really nice that DVC was willing to give you the F&F discount on that. This seems to back up Dean's theory that sales aren't going as well as DVC states. Why give that price to someone after the deadline? :confused3 They really seem to be offfering a lot to move these points. Is it because they want to start a new DVC Resort or sales are lagging? My guess is they blew it in your case, sounds like you would have added on regardless of the price increase. Adding on before closing the first contract seems a little extreme. Why not wait a year and see how those points work for you or how you like the program? Sounds like these boards prompted another add on. These boards should recieve a percentage of all add on money because they sure spur the itch. Hope you enjoy all your future DVC trips.

These boards had nothing to do with us adding on. We knew 150 points wasn't going to be enough after thinking about it so we added on.
Since we hadn't finished the whole process yet we could have either increased our original contract amount or done it as a seperate contract. We chose to do the latter.
I don't find it extreme at all. We figured that our initial 150 points wasn't going to be enough so we were WISE enough to get in with the good deal. Not extreme to me, but smart!

Sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to change my mind......

Why the hostility? :confused3 Nobody said you weren't allowed to change your mind. My main point is that DVC was very nice to do this for you, they didn't have to.

We did a similar thing. We were going to do 240, changed it to 300 and did a 100 pt add on at SSR before it even opened. :scratchin

Because I found this to be very condenscending like we didn't know what we were doing and we were being foolish by adding-on.

Well I think it's great that you decided that YOU WANTED to stay more (nothing better then that) .And yes it was nice of them to extend your F&F discount I think the small amount of money they would have made by not doing it for the add-in (not ON as you didn't close)is no big deal to them .

I think just here on the DIS the amount of 1st timers and add-on's during F&F was just amazing how can you say things are not good .

phorsenuf Please don't worry about some comments and enjoy ALL your new points.

You just took it the wrong way or are overly sensitive. The part about the Dis spurring another add on was a joke. Maybe you posted here looking for some sort of validation for adding on before the original contract was done. Sorry I didn't give you that validation you were looking for. Posting things like this in a public forum will bring a variety of responses. If your post had read "Just wanted to let everyone know that if you bought in during the F&F deal you can add on additional points for the same low price before your original contract it finalized. I would have thought, great someone helping out others on the Dis. Your post screams, WOOO HOOO look at me, I added on before the initial contarct was signed. Nobody cares. These boards are designed to be an informational source not some Dr. Phil chit chat. You don't need our approval here. Good luck with the membership and any future add ons you chose to do. By the way we don't need to hear about them. You are pre-validated. Add on to your hearts content.

I'm joking by the way :rotfl2: , lighten up and enjoy that membership. There is no such thing as too many points.
