Can we add park hopper to just one day? We plan on doing a package with 3 nights and 3 days in the parks. Thinking of doing Magic Kingdom on 10/13, Hollywood on 10/14, and Animal Kingdom on 10/15 but kinda want to add in Epcot on our last day. Is it possible to add it in while we are there?

Then we will head to the dark side for the next three days which will be our first trip there, yay!

Add it in when you first arrive if you're going to do it, because you can then use it the whole time you're there. It doesn't matter how many days you are there, adding the hopper is the same amount.

Edit: I just went to check. It's $34 for one day and then $59 for more than that. I still wouldn't spend $34 for the one day.

Unfortunately you have to add the PH option to all of the days on your ticket if you add it to one.

I don't think that adding the hopper option to just 1 day of your 3-day tickets can be done. You would have to upgrade the entire ticket from a MYW Base ticket to a MYW Park Hopper.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me!

Curious - where did you find those prices? Could you post a link?

If you go to the Disney World website and click on "Parks and Tickets", you can check the prices.

You can't buy the $34 day PH option for a ticket that's more than one day. If you have a one day ticket, they charge $34 - since you'll only be able to use it for that one day.
Anything over a one day ticket must buy the PH add on for the full $59 regardless of how many days you plan to hop. Same price if it's a two day ticket or a 10 day ticket.....

The cost to add hopping (or WPF&M) is $59 ($63.90 including tax) per ticket. It does not matter if it is adult or child, two day or ten days, first day of use or last day of use, the price is the same. (For a Florida Resident it is $29.50 plus tax.)

Note that to add hopping to a one day ticket is $39 ($41.54 including tax). Note this applies specifically to a one day ticket and not to a multi-day ticket with one day left, and it does not apply to one day only on a multi-day ticket.

So if you are not sure, don't order them. If you find you do need them, then upgrade your tickets at any ticket window or Guest Relations Office. It only takes a minute or so.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #6, you can get a lot more information about upgrading. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!

Yes, it can be done.

Last trip, the couple we were with stayed offsite, so they didn't have the RFID keys or whatever they are. They got regular tickets, while DW and I had hoppers. We all decided that we wanted to hop around and do the main attractions again at each of the parks on the last day, so they upgraded their last ticket to a hopper. I wasn't with them when they did it, but they did it and didn't act like it was a big deal.

I think what a lot of people are alluding to here is that the hoppers are front loaded. For example, If I wanted to upgrade two single day base tickets to hoppers, it would cost $72.42. However, if I wanted to upgrade from 5 day hoppers to 6 day hoppers, it would only cost $21.30. So, some make the argument that if you buy one hopper, you should just get all hoppers. I'd typically be in that crowd if you were talking about buying 3 hoppers. I think once you buy 3, you might as well buy 7. For just one though, I think you're fine.

Yes, but they paid the same as if they had added PH to their tickets from the start.

If you absolutely know you wish to hop on your last day, it's better to add it at the beginning which gives you the option of hopping on the previous days if you feel like it.

If you think you might hop, it's probably better to wait and add it only if you decide to actually do it. Otherwise, you could end up paying for PH and not hopping. That would be potentially hundreds of dollars (depending on the size of your family) down the drain.

If I'm reading this right, besides what was posted above your thought process is a little off.

I think the easiest way to put this is when you buy a 3 day ticket you only have one ticket that has three days not 3 one day tickets.

Also as posted above you can't just add one day of hopping to a multi day ticket even if there is only one day left. Buying two tickets say a 5 day base MYW and a one day MYW with hopping (a Park hopper) costs more than a 6 day MYW with hopping.

There is a situation where if you are only going two days and only want to hop one day its cheaper to buy a 1 day MYW base and a 1 day MYW with PH.

Right, right. I see what you're saying now. I was assuming they did not have MYW tickets, and then I got a little crossed over and started comparing MYW hopper prices. My bad.
