i own 200 point akv oct. u.y. points want to add another 100 points.by resale.i know if i bye akv with a different use year it will be a seperate membership ,right?what if i bye another resort.is it better to get same oct. uy or does it not make a differance. is there any advantage to getting same uy at a different resort.will it be seperate contract and memberships.thanks

It kind of depends on what you see yourself doing with the points from the second resort. If you plan to use it for a split stay with AKV every time you go, then having the same UY would simplify things from the standpoint of keeping track of banking deadlines. But if, for example, you plan to use your AKV points for a spring break trip and you want BWV to use for F&W, you may want a UY which falls before F&W (Sept, Aug, June). I think that if you do buy a second resort with an Occtober UY, it will still show up as a separate contract, since it is a different home resort. And, as you probably know, you would not be able to combine the points to have the 11 month booking window -- each home resort would follow its own booking guidelines.

Have fun shopping! It's a great time to buy resale!!:thumbsup2

Same UY makes everything easier. If you don't have a good reason to change it then stay with the same year.

Ditto. Had two separate UYs (member IDs), and personally, I wouldn't do it again. It's not horrible, just easier (as disneynutz pointed out).

Good luck! :thumbsup2
