We are looking at adding on with a resale today. We have 200 pts at SSR with a June UY. We have found some tempting resales with different use years - what are he Pros & Cons of getting contracts with different use years?

Thanks!!!!
Jess

A different UY will be a completely different membership. You will not be able to combine points from both memberships for a single nights stay without doing a transfer from one contract to the other.

I think that as long as the contract you are considering is big enough to cover whole nights for what you want, then it is doable.

We had it one time but we didn't own enough in either contract to book our entire summer trip at the 11 month mark without borrowing points from one of the other.

Good luck!

PS Since today is the deadline, if it were me, I would make sure that the contrat that you sign specifically indicates your right to back out if it does not make it to Disney in time to keep the trading benefits, if that is something you want with these add on points.

One use year is easier to manage and there are no guarantees that Disney won't discontinue transfers.

Go with same UY if you can. It takes more work to make a reservation across UYs, and you have different banking deadlines. It's like having two separate checking accounts that you can only make 1 transfer in/out of per year.

If you are traveling to WDW more than once per year, it becomes easier to manage, and in all honesty, I ended up selling the contracts in one of my UYs because I hated the UY, not because of having two separate ones. However, when I went to repurchase, I did stick with my Dec UY. Just didn't want to mess with multiple UYs again.

Best of luck!!! :thumbsup2
