Talked to guide today. We're 40th on the waitlist for VWL. (We wanted to add on 70 points for December use year, do you think this means we're 40th for December waitlist or for all use years?)Was told only 15 have been called from the waitlist in the last 6 months for VWL. Doesn't look too promising.
Got put on waitlist for 50 points instead at our home at BCV. Was told this would probably go through very soon. I thought December use year was about all that was left at BCV, looks like it is gone now, too? (I guess I'm waiting on points that fall through from contracts?)
Kinda bummed, but this will make things easy to keep track of. Hubby is over it so I best move quickly! LOL
Anyway, that is the scoop. We're now on 2 waitlists, but looks like BCV will be the winner and I'll still be able to bank the points in time of my banking deadline.
Guess I can always trade with a VWL owner if I have problems booking there down the road?

I would think that that means 40th for your use year.

I'm sure the BCV will come through soon.

What did your guide say about 100 at BCV? Would you have been able to use MB?

I own at VWL. Maybe we can trade sometime.

Shan, just out of curiosity, how urgently do you need those points? I mean, if you were going to bank them anyway...??? What if you held out a year for the VWL points? What's the worst that could happen?... If you needed the points during next year, and VWL did not come through, you could buy the 50 year contract at SSR. I believe you were thinking of that as an option anyway... Right?

Hey. I kinda don't know what to do. I would hate to never be able to get those VWL points and have had the opportunity to get 50 more at my home at BCV and passed it up while waiting on the VWL waitlist. Yes, hubby is letting me add on, but very reluctantly. If I added on at SSR I'd want at least the 100 and there is no way he'll go for that. The only reason he agreed to 70 in the first place was because it was at VWL. I think he is over it and the least I talk to him about adding on the better.
Two things - At least an add on at my home resort of BCV would make things easy to keep track of.
And the longer I'm on a waitlist for VWL the more that lesser contract for still the same price of $84 seems worthwhile when compared to SSR.
True, I could stay on VWL waitlist for 70 points and if after a year it doesn't come through just add on at SSR. (I'm sure BCV would then be the same scenario as VWL at that point with add ons.) But, once again is adding 50 on at SSR gonna do me any good? Yes, longer contract, but we'll only have 50 points there and I'd have to keep up with the different booking windows. At least with 70 at VWL I could get a 5 night stay during the summer in a studio.
I want some extra points! But, I'm gonna hate waitlisting every Christmas for VWL!!! This stinks! I guess I need to decide soon as my guide said BCV points would probably come through very soon, maybe even this week.

Could you add on the 50 now at BCV and then keep your names on the waitlist at VWL?

I would wait for VWL, I think. You really love it there and you don't need the points this year, do you?

I would leave SSR out of the mix for now. That will be there down the road.

Are there still BCV pts for your use year available?

I know exactly what you are going through. Don't get too stressed about it. Just make a decision and stick to it. My DH is exactly the same way.

Nope, we're looking at a either or situation. Hubby will not add on 50 at BCv and then a year later 70 at VWL if the waitlist coems through.
I'm on waitlist for 50 at BCV, but guide says it might come through thsi week. (I guess soem poinst are tied up in contracts that might nto go through?)

So, I could just take my chances, don't buy the 50 at BCV and stay on VWl waitlist for thsoe 70.

We can't use any poinst thsi use year so any boight woudl ahve to get banked. I wodul like to ahve extra poinst for next use year to taek my Mom, but obviously DVc isn't a life death sitaution.

I guess my fera is we never get thsoe VWL points and BCV poinst will have coem and gone, too.

We are trapped into certain times of the year to gofor quite soem time with the kids considering my youngest is only 2 and my oldest just started Kindergraten. Christmas break will be a definte each year along with either spring or summer break.

I woudl think VWL at Christmas would be where we wnat to stay at that time of year, BCV for SAB during our warmer trip months. I just worry about it being readlly next to impossible to saty at VWl during Christmas especially with new SSR emmebers in the mix.

I would stay on the waitlist for the 70 at VWL, especially if you want to go at Christmas time.

Maybe the BCV pts will come and go but maybe you can go back on the BCV waitlist next year if you know the VWL pts won't come through.

Just be patient. I really hope the VWL pts come through for you but I would at least give it a few months and see what happens.

You're right. I'm being too impatient. I think I'll call my guide and leave a message to leave me on VWl waitlist and skip the add on of 50 at BCV. I really wnat those vWL points! I know he is out for a coupel days.

How many pts will it take to stay in a studio for 5 nights at that time?

I forget how many BCV pts you own. Do you feel you have enough there?

I think you will be HAPPY when your guide calls you when those VWL pts become available. They will eventually I think. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear that you will not be able to purchase your add on at VWL. If I were you I would get the 100 points at BCV and use the MB. BCV would be my second choice as well.
