We just purchased 75 points at about 5:45 Eastern time today, Friday, 02-22-08. What is the soonest you think they will be available to make reservations.

We added on last Saturday and the points were available on Sunday.

Me too! I added on Friday afternoon also and I had the same question. Thank you for posting the question. :thumbsup2

By the way, I checked on-line this morning and they haven't hit my account yet. I hope they hit today or tomorrow. I need to call ASAP to bank the '07 points.

Congratulations on your add-on! :dance3:

When I purchased on Wednesday the points were in my account the next day! :goodvibes Hopefully that will be the case for you too.

I added on last week in the morning, and by the evening the points were available on line.

I just checked on-line again this afternoon and my points are there! :dance3:

So I just called member services and they were able to bank them for me.

If I did Add-on through DVC, how much roughly is everyone paying per point? How negotiable is the number? Are there other benefits to buying Add-ons through DVC rather than TSS?

Thank you

Add-ons at SSR & AKV are $104 per point. I am not sure of the DVC prices at the other resorts. Currently there is an incentive for AKV ($8 per point) and SSR ($10 per point) if you purchase 110 points or more.

There is no negotiating price with Disney.

The benefits of buying through Disney are:
1) Lower closing costs (no closing cost if it is an add-on)
2) You get your points quicker
3) You don't have to worry about ROFR
4) You don't have to worry about stripped contracts

The benefits of resale are:
1) Lower price per point cost
2) If this is your first DVC purchase, you can get a contract for less than 160 points.

Our first purchase into DVC was through TSS and Robert Machado. The whole process went well. The contract actually had some points left over from the previous use year. From comments above, I feel that going through DVC would be better. I didn't care for the ROFR process.

Thanks for the advice.

Nothing as of today (02-29-08). Maybe it will come on Monday. I started a thread on this and someone mentioned they might be behind.

Mine finally came yesterday. I was getting nervous because I am going on a business trip next week and it will last for 1-2 weeks.
