We bought BCV through Disney with a Feb. use year. If we decided to add on at BVC through Disney, how would it work if our use year was already sold out. I know you can't have two different use years if you buy through Disney. Do we have to wait for Disney to release more of our use year (do they do that?) or buy a resale?

If your use year is sold out, you should call your agent and get on the February use year list. Disney periodically releases additional points for sold out use years. When I called to get on the list our agent told me that it could take four weeks, four months, or more. Good luck.

I beleive you can have to UY via Disney if each contract is over 150 points.

They also have a wait list. Sometimes Disney uses their ROFR on resales and then have more points to dole out. Or someone failed to make their payments :-( you can be waitlisted for a week, a month, a year, a decade........... SOme UY are harder to get than others (dont know which ones though sorry)

One thing someone has suggested is asking their guide to call them when their UY was ALMOST sold out, so they could jump in before it was gone.

One more thing, and I could be wrong, but I beleive DVC holds out points for each UY for add ons.... meaning they will swicth to selling the next UY even though there are points still availbe, I guess they figured a lot of first time buyers will get the urge to add on after they're first stay.....

Hope this is all correct info, if not I am sure someone will correct me :teeth:

The way Disney sells a resort to new buyers is to rollover the use year being offered as the calendar year progresses. In other words, it may now be selling a March use year to new buyers but next month it will sell May (there is no April use year) and by November it will be selling June and in August of next year if the resort is not yet sold out it will be selling a March year again. One reason it does that is so no particular month sells out until all of them start to get close to selling out. Existing members when they add-on get their existing use year. Thus if you have a February use year and added on today you would get Feb. I am not aware of any month for a use year being close to sell out at this point at BCV (HH is getting close to complete sell-out and one or two months may be already gone). At BCV you could have a situation of the Feb use year being temporarily unvailable because it was the one month being offered for sale over a period of three to four sale months earlier this year and thus Disney did not rollover its offered month like it usally does and is doing now (the reason was that Feb was the earliest month that could be sold under the pre-sale program for BCV since it was not yet opened). However, sales of a DVC resort follow a rolling dedication. For example when sales begun at DVC a small portion of BCV was dedicated to the DVC program; as more sales occur more of BCV will be added to the pool for sales and thus more "Feb" use year is likely to show up as sales progress.

Disney's policy is to allow you to add on only in your existing use year unless you buy 150 points (and thus have a new full contract by Disney's minimums). If there is a true sell out of your use month(meaning all points at the resort that can be sold for that month), the only way thereafter to get points from Disney is by Disney buying points in the market under its right of first refusal or because someone defaults on his loan and has to return the points. You can get on wait lists for those.

Dear MrsG! We also have a use year of Feb but own at VWL. We just added on 100 pts. at BCV because NY was offered the original purchase price of $75 (which I'm sure you know) but are still offering the special deal of $70 per point only until Sept. 14th. I couldn't resist! (Only if you buy 100 pts or more, though) We will be able to bank all of the 100, 2002 points, even though it is very late in the year! I thought that BCV for the $70 per point was pretty good, so if you are planning to add-on, the time is short! There didn't seem to be a problem with the Feb UR. Good luck!
