Add on Questions

Hello. We are considering our first add on purchase, and I am a little fuzzy on a couple things.

Question #1: If we add 25 points in the month of December 2006, would we still get the 2006 points? In other words, I have an April use year. Does that mean that I would get 25 points as of April 2007, or 25 now and another 25 in April 2007?

Question #2: Can we use our newly added on points immediately after purchase?

You will get points from the current Use Year and may bank them or use them as you wish.

Some have reported not being allowed to bank current points with a new purchase late in the Use Year- but I suspect that is related to the need to close on the first-purchase before being able to do anything except make a reservation.

Since this is an add-on and several months befor your UY I would not expect any problems.

Wednesday sometime between 3- 4 pm I called my guide told him I wanted to add on and gave him my credit card to use. Thursday morning about 9:30 am I called and used those points for a reservation next summer.

In general you cannot bank or borrow points until you are officially closed. I do recall that DVC made some exceptions in this area with SSR for at least some buyers.

I added 40 OKW points last week and banked them the day after I bought them. I have an April use year and won't use them until our Nov. trip.
