Hello to All,
I am a current BWV owner and have been since 1998, now I have a question that I need help with. If you buy a add-on through Disney (looking at 50 points) will you get this years point allocation since you are buying in 2004 or do you have to wait until your use year next year if your use year has already passed (example:April use year) ? I hope I did not confuse anyone with that one . Thanks in advance.

I believe you would get this year's allocation. I bought an add-on at a sold out resort (BWV) through Disney and I received the current year's points, which I was able to bank.

For an existing resort you should get the points for the use year you are in when you buy. In your example, 2004. For December, you should get 2003 points. While they may bend the banking rules when people buy around the 6 month window, they usually aren't all that flexible with it. Still, your entire points come into play for the 25 & 50% banking windows which can help out.

We added on 65 BWV points, February use-year, this past March, and got all of this year's points. My guide told me the same would be true if we had bought in December or January too, just less time to use them.

We just bought a 55 point add-on at BWV this last week. Our use year is August. We got 55 points for the 2003 use year (we only had about six days to use the 2003 points because we were past our May 25% banking window). We were able to use 54 of them for a spur of the moment trip for some family members that were on vacation in the Tampa area! woo hoo

We also get 55 more points August 1st for 2004.

It depends. They are subject to the banking rules. They may give you a litle slack for a new purchase but not much. But it does depend on your total number of points so if you haven't banked many points for that use year, you may be OK until 2 months out.

I bought 150pts Dec use year at BCV through Disney this past June and passed papers a week ago. They did bank all of my 2003 points.
