We own at BCV and AKV, both with Feb. use year. We are considering buying BLT. Can we name the use year? When we bought AKV (on a cruise last year) they made a big deal out of allowing us to keep our same use year - as if this was something special. I've read here that others have chosen their use year so I'm wondering if that really wasn't an "incentive" at the time. Or did I misread something?

When you add on through Disney, you will be given the same UY. If you really want a different one, the policy has been that you must add on with the new member minimum.

So, if you want to add on at BLT with something other than Feb, you might be required to buy 160 points as it would be a new master contract with a new member # (so, technically, it wouldn't really be an add on).

Just a reminder, you can't combine points for a single nights reservation from contract that are different UY. You must first transfer the points between the contract before you can do that.

Thanks. That really makes me laugh now that I remember what a HUGE deal the DVC staff made out of being able to keep your same use year when you added on during our cruise. Though it didn't make a difference in us buying I know I remember saying - 'THat's great that we can keep the same use year." Had NO idea that was standard operating procedure. But glad it is.
