I am confused about UY when it comes to adding on points. I keep seeing people mention that a December UY is great for the current incentive. Why is that?

I am considering adding 110 AKV points. I have an August UY. I used all my 2007 points. I have 103 points coming in August 2008. How many points would I have for 2008 if I added on? (I currently own 160 points at SSR).

Also is the $500 Disney rewards incentive for just 160 points or more?

If you add on through Disney it will be the same use year you already have. The only way to get a different use year is to buy another contract of 160 points or buy a resale contreact which of course does not give you the incentives that Disney does. If you add on now I think you will get the 110 2007 points and then have another 110 coming on Aug 1 2008. You can bank the 2007 points and they will be available Aug 1 2008 or if you don't bank them you will have 110 to use before Aug 1 2008. If there are deveoper points involved then I think they must be used within the 12 months after adding on but am not positive about the time frame so you would have to check on that. The reason December is so good is that you get the 2006 points now then the 2007 points in less than a month.

Yes. I confirmed that when I was adding on last week.

The Dec UY is great for SSR because you get 2006 points now and your 2007 points next month.

Allowing new purchases to bank last minute has been a standard the last few years. Of course this wouldn't apply to AKV as there were no 2006 points.

The problem I am having now is getting my guide to return my calls so that I can actually make the add on purchase before the special ends. I wish there was an easy way to change guides. Mine never seems to return my calls. We had the same problem with her when we made our original purchase.

Wow, I can't imagine a guide not calling back for an add on possibility.Mine always calls back and I have not added on yet. (But I know I will.(

If I don't hear back from her today I will try to go thru another guide.

We originally only purchased 160 pts in November 2006. It did not take us long to realize that was not going to be enough. We are adding 110 additional points now and I am sure we will add on again in the future.

You can change Guides. Call the DVC Preview Center number, ask to speak to a Manager. They will assign you a new Guide.
