If you add on points directly from DVC must they be in the same use year and are the new points considered a second contact (with respect to banking, transferring etc)?

If you do an add-on, it has to be the same UY and at least 50 points if you are financing through Disney. With this type of add-on, it will be added on to your current contract with a .1, .2, .3 after your membership number for each additional add-on you do.

If you want a different UY, you would have to do an initial investment of 150 points to get started again if you are purchasing through Disney or make a resale purchase. It would be an entirely different contract/membership number.

I am somewhat new to this, so anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

You can add a 25 point contract if you pay in cash. It has to be same use year.

(I hope you don't mind my jumping in on your question)

If you buy points for a different resort, is it still an add-on, with same UY rules? Or is it then considered a new contract, with minimum purchase rules? And can each .1, .2, .3 contract be sold separately, if one was ever to resell them? Thanks.

Yes, it's still an add on. We started with 220 points at BW, then added 80 points at OKW but it had to be the same use year and it's attached to the main contract. When I make reservations, do banking or borrowing, I must be specific about which resort's points I want to use.

Just for further clarification, you may sell add-on points separately, whether they are at the same resort or a different resort. Add-ons of less than 150 points through Disney must be the same use year. If you have a single use year, even at different resorts, Disney will keep them all in the same membership, which is nice when it comes time to bank because the % allowances are based on the total points in the membership number.
We have a single membership and use year and 6 contracts, 5 of which are at BWV. When making ressies I only worry about whether I am using BWV points or OKW points. The multiple add-ons at BWV act like one contract when making ressies. (But I have the advantage of being able to sell those add-ons separately, heaven forbid.) I think the only time it might be necessary to distinguish points on my BWV add-ons would be if I were going to sell an add-on because I would need to decide where the banked/current/borrowed points would go.
