Add-on question and using points?

We are still deciding on the new SSR promo. This is such a great deal! We want to take the 2006 Member Cruise and the call-in for that is 12-3-05. I would want to use the 2005 points from the new SSR add-on to help pay for the cruise.

When you purchase from Disney when are the points ready for use? Does it take a day, week, etc?

You can make reservations using the new points as soon as you have paid the deposit - even if the closing will be later. In this case, you should be fine since the reservation isn't until next october.

Not to possibly correct Doc, but generally your add on points are only immediately available for DVC resort reservations. Because DCL is considered and treated as an exchange, it is POSSIBLE that a reservation for DCL will be treated as an exchange reservation in which case the points are not available for the reservation until you actually close. A call to your guide may be appropriate to check on this.
