We are currently DVC members going to WDW in Sept on a cash ressie. I have CR TPV booked, but we really want to stay in BLT 1 BR. I tried to book BLT on cash but no villas avaliable. My husband suggested doing a 100 point add on to stay at BLT since we have used most of are points already this year, and we only currently have 160 points. I called my agent to do the add-on and she also said there was no avalibilty at BLT on points either. So should I go ahead and do the add-on and book at another DVC resort and waitlist BLT? My husband and son insist on staying at a monorail resort and I know they won't be happy anywhere else. I hate to spend $2000 on a room at CR when we could put that money towards more points. What are my chances of getting BLT on waitlist at less than 5 months out? TIA

I'm the wrong person to ask - I always add on. Think ... in the future you can stay where you want.

Is there the possibility of staying in two Studios at BLT if you add on? VWL is a nice resort... the Boat ride to MK is nice. We added on at BLT last year and I booked a MK view at 11 months out. I knew this resort would be popular. I suggest adding on there.

I called back last night and BLT 1 BR LV was avaliable on cash reservation so I booked that. Why is it I can book on cash but nothing is available for points with an add-on? I though DVC members got first choice at DVC resorts then whatever wasn't booked on points after a certain timeframe went up for cash.
This is so frustrating.

Disney maintains a certain amount of inventory for cash reservations, separate from DVC inventory. As more people buy BLT, more units may be declared into inventory, so you may get in on a waitlist.
