My guide emailed me this week and is offering AKV for a 50 point add on at $97 per point, with 2009 points. Is this really a great offer, or do you think the offers will get better with the upcoming webcast? Thanks for your thoughts!
Cathy

For a small add on, I think that the price is decent and not a bad deal. Getting the 2009 points typically happens if you are in the middle of the UY.

But, I don't think you will see better incentives for 50 points during the webcast.

Typically, the difference has occurred at the 100 point level and up. I am signed up as well but, my plan is to add on only 25 at BLT and they don't typically offer any discounts until you reach the 50 point mark.

It did work! One more question though, do I need to register from the computer I will be using to view the webcast?

Thanks again!

I could not say for sure, but after signing up I received an email confirmation. Within the confirmation was a link that they said you will need to view the webcast. It also included a test link to make sure the computer you would be using met the requirements to run the webcast. Based on this I would assume as long as you have the link you can view it from any computer.

You should be able to watch from any computer as long as you have the link provided in your email.

Does anyone know how to register for the webcast if you're Canadian? The drop box for country only lists United States as an option...

I just added 100 pts to AK in October. They gave me $10 off the 112/pt to make it 102 plus 09 pts.( i have a Dec UY)

Actually, with a Dec UY, you may have been give 2008 point since the 2009 UY for December has not yet started. You might want to check your account to be sure.

The closer you are to your UY the better the deal. You only pay annual dues from date of purchase til end of current UY. So, if you have June UY, add on in May and you will only have days of dues instead of months and you still get a full allotment of points for the current UY.:)

Due to legal restrictions, I think that folks from Canada are not included. :sad1:

Canadians were not given the option for the big webcast several months ago intended for new owners where they offered the big incentives but I still managed to register. I just put in my address as my Canadian address and used the second address line to put in Toronto, ON, Canada then faked the state as NY State. I still got my package in the mail and was able to view the webcast. But since I had just purchased BLT not even a week before and preferred the original incentive (one week cruise) I never tried for that one to know if I could have taken advantage of the incentive.

Anybody know how long the offer is good for? We added a 100 point contact at AKV, and even though our first stay is not for 3 weeks, I'm sure we don't have enough points.:rolleyes1

Thanks for the info! I'm a UK DVC owner so wasn't even going to bother to register, however I followed your advice and am now set up to view the webcast... :thumbsup2

It sounds like you all already know, but just to confirm I believe Canada and the UK cannot purchase via the phone. One of those quirks in the laws for your countries. But I don't see why shouldn't you watch the website. There is a possibility due to the above mention restrictions you still wouldn't be eligible for the discounts even if you went to WDW to buy.

Just to clarify, Canadians ARE able to purchase DVC via phone(I did) Ontario residents can. Not sure which of the other provinces can. I have registered for webcasts before. But to register for this one I am trying to contact my guide and as a last resort I will put my city and a artificial state as OP suggested.:surfweb:
