Add-on information?

DH and I have been seriously discussing buying more points. Could someone tell me what the down payment is now that the rates are increasing? 10 or 20% or more? What will the rate be for an add-on at SSR? And do we still need a deposit/down payment if we decide to pay cash?

Minimum down is not changing, still 10%, don't know the rates, and if you pay cash, you need to give some kind of down payment (don't know the minimum but we bought well over 100 and they accepted $1,000) when you call and pay rest when you send in contracts.

My DH and I just added SSR to our DVC yesterday. We purchased 100 pts and had to give a 10% downpayment.

DH and I added on this month. The entire amount was charged to our credit card immediately and we had points in our account within several hours. Paperwork followed several days later.

Thanks DiznyDi. Do you or anyone here know how long it would take if we decide to purchase more points and finance? Is it as long a wait as when we first bought into DVC? We have never missed a payment or been behind with dues but will they do credit checking and all of that lengthy stuff as the first time?

Just added for the second time, and they did not do a credit check for the add-ons. I put the down payment on my credit card, and the points were in my account that night. Still waiting for my paperwork she saidit should be about 10 days. But I was able to book a vacation in october on my purchased points.

That's good to know that we wouldn't have to wait weeks before knowing anything. Now if I can talk DH into buying more points than what we were planning on paying cash for. LoL
