question about the booking process if you have add-on contracts.....

how does it work? :confused3

(EX) if i currently have 200 pts at BWV, i obviously can book there 11 months in advance, and all other DVC resorts at 7 months. but - if i add on 50 points at VWL, what am i entitled to do when i call to make my reservations? can i only use 200 points to book BWV 11 months in advance, and only 50 points to book VWL at 11 months? and then - i am assuming here - could use all 250 points to book ANY DVC resort within the 7 month window?

i am a new member and have yet to make ANY reservations....just wondering!

With your 50-point add-on at VWL, you could book 11 months in advance at VWL only. If you want to use VWL points at BWV or any other resort other than VWL, you would have to wait until 7 months prior to your check-out date.

When booking at 7 months or closer to your check-out date, you could use either your BWV points or your VWL points at any resort.

Edited to add: Something to consider is that with a 50-point add-on at VWL you could bank and borrow those VWL points, giving you as many as 150 VWL points to use at 11 months every 3 years, or 100 points every other year. So a small add-on can work out well to give you home resort advantage at another resort that you would like to stay at every couple of years.

But the bottom line is, the only points you can use to book at 11 months are points from that resort. It doesn't matter how many other resorts you own or how many points you have in total, to book at "resort X" at 11 months, you need enough "resort X" points to cover your reservation.
