Add 2 to Tusker House Reservation!

We are going to WDW the last week of the month and I was able to score a reservation for a Tusker House lunch when they opened up on the 20th. The next day Gram and Pop asked if they could join us in Disney for a few days. I'm beyond excited as my kids haven't seen them in forever and they're going to surprise them on our second day down. Unfortunately I wasn't aware that they were coming when I booked our 4 person reso at Tusker House. This was our only character meal so I don't want to cancel it. I've got some monitoring apps watching for an opening, but have yet to see anything.

Gram and Pop totally understand if they can't come, but I would love some thoughts on strategies that might be able to get our party from 4-6? Are there tables available for walk up? Can I stop at the restaurant when we enter the park? Any ideas?

Usually the day of you will find reservations come and go as people are cancelling/changing plans - use your MDE on your phone and refresh, refresh, refresh!

If you can find an ADR for 2 anywhere near the same time, book it (you may need to use a second MDE account) and keep looking for ADRs for 6. If you never get one for 6, all 6 of you should arrive maybe 15 minutes before the earliest ADR and check in with the CM, not via MDE. Tell them you’re together and ask politely to be seated as close together as possible and that you’re willing to wait. They’ll do the best they can and hopefully be able to seat you together.

Not much you can do besides keep checking for a new ADR for 6 (set up a reservation finder on Touring Plans to help with this!). You may have success with this the day before as people cancel to avoid fees. Or, as other posters suggested, if you can snag a second ADR for 2 people around the same time that could work as well.

Pre-pandemic, Tusker House was the one restaurant that would always accommodate additions to your party. I haven't heard anything recently, but you may be able to simply walk up and add them when you check in for your reservation.
