Rainy, dreary, just the type of optimistic weather setting for taking a test that can determine your future, lol. Oh well, if you're going to be stuck in a dull room for 5 hours it may as well be lousy outside so no distractions.

Ugh, the ACT. :headache: I always thought it was easier than the SAT, if that's any consolation for whoever is taking the test today! Hope they do well!

They do the ACT's on a weekday? I thought they were only scheduled on Saturday's?

For some it is, depending on your strengths (or weaknesses). For others, the SATs are better for them.:goodvibes

It may be a school district is utilizing the ACT as a means of measuring student achievement. Schools here in Michigan had all of the juniors take it back in March on a school day.

Maybe the OP is in one of those states that rolls the ACT into a State Testing day?

My son just got his scores back from the April test and now he's signed up again for June because he wants 2 points higher. Just keep trying, trying, trying....

I know someone who worked at a college-review website who said that from what they saw of the statistics girls do better on the ACT, boys do better on the SAT.

Good luck to anyone taking the ACT today. Please also keep all the AP kids in your thoughts over the first two weeks in May.

agnes!

June is the "football player" test day or so I have been told.

It is a date that notoriously low scorers take it so he might actually raise his score.

Yep, that's why I said *I* thought the ACT was easier. :thumbsup2

Bingo Rita,,, right 'cher in Illinois! I am 99% sure DS will be among those in June...let's just say I predict there will be plenty of room for improvement :rolleyes1How long did your scores take to return? I want to go ahead and sign DS up for June so we get our own HS, but then again, don't feel like donating the $ either if he meets his goal. I kinda feel like if I sign him up before we get the score I am jinxing him. That, and I waited for DD's scores before signing her up so feel I should be fair.

It was 3 weeks on the dot. We got the score report in the mail Saturday and they were posted online Monday.

I'm not sure how reporting it through the State testing will mess with time it takes though. My oldest son did the ACT/Prairie State 4 years ago but I don't remember how long his scores took to be mailed out.

Should be exactly the same timeframe. DD took it on her own initiative in December, again in March for State assessments. 3 weeks both times.

My dd predeicted her ACT score based on her SAT from a conversion chart. Hit it exactly. I guess she is a consistent tester.

This is what they do in Illinois too. Sophomores do a practice ACT & Juniors the real one. My kids had ACT today (PSAE testing) and that was after a long night watching the Blackhawks playoff game. Good thing my son is a good tester!!

And "I" just explained it a little further, for those who are unfamiliar with both tests:goodvibes
