Actor Don Knotts died

Don Knotts as Barney Fife was perhaps the greatest sitcom character ever.
I own Ghost and Mr. Chicken on DVD :) Sorry to hear of his death, but grateful for all the laughs he brought me and so many others.

In the character of Barney Fife he created one of the giants of television. RIP Don Knotts

My husband and I used to watch reruns of Andy Griffith when we first got married as it was the only channel we could pick up without cable. I have seen him in so many movies though, including playing himself in Scooby Doo cartoons :)

He'll be missed, but then so will a lot of the greats once they are gone. They just don't come along like that anymore :(

So sad! :( One of my absolute favorite movies is "The Incredible Mr. Limpet". He will be sorely missed! :(

That is the one I was trying to think of. My DH used to watch it with my kids when they were little. I also liked the Reluctant Astronaut. ( I never can remember titles.) Gosh, he was one of the best, wasn't he? Another legend gone, but not to be forgotten.

Holy cow! I can't believe I learned this from the dis. I must really be ignoring the news lately. Thanks for posting.
It makes me so sad to hear of the classic stars passing.

Sung By Barney Fife...

In A Jailhouse,
Down In Dixie,
Fightin Crime And Saving Lives,
Lived A Sheriff And His Buddy,
Pistol Packin,
Barney Fife.

Oh My Darin,
Oh My Darin,
Oh My Darin Barnie Fife,
He's A Deadly Crime Stopper,
What A Copper,
Barnie Fife!

Then One Day There,
Came A Ridin,
Two Bad Men To Rob The Bank,
But Fife Was Tricky,
A Dead-eye Dicky,
And He Locked Them In The Tank.

Sung By Sheriff Andy Taylor...

Oh My Darin,
Oh My Darin Barnie Fife,
Had A Jailcell,
Couldn't Lock It,
Had One Bullet For His Pistol,
Had To Keep It In His Pocket.

Rest In Peace, Don. You'll Be Missed!

RIP Barney ...

I love that movie! I also liked him in Mr Limpet.

We still watch the Andy Griffith Show reruns every afternoon. He was a true talent.

I first heard about this earlier today when a cop posted on a New Orleans board that some of them were going to carry a bullet in their pockets tomorrow in honor of him.
That's really sweet!

Don Knotts was a hilarious actor. Always fun to watch. Too bad some people can't live (and work) forever.
:(

I Still love watching Don Knotts on the Andy Griffith Show. He was a great actor! Barney always made me laugh. :lmao:
I was happy when Don Knotts showed up as a neighbor in the Matlock series. He and Andy made a great team. :cloud9:

He was also great in the movie Pleasentville. (1998)

It's TV and Cashew Fudge night over at Thelma Lou's.

Rest In Peace Barney.... :thumbsup2

And I remember Mr. Knotts also as Mr. Morrison, the 'nervous man' in Steve Allen's Man in the Street sketches.

STEVE:Tell me Mr Morrisson, are you nervous?
DON: NOPE! :rotfl:

I guess Don's up there now with Steve, and Louis Nye, who played Gordon Hathaway in those same sketches.

"Hi Ho Steverino!"
