The boys I Nanny for are going to Disney in Feb. They are 4 year twin boys. I am putting together activity bags for them. They are driving from NY. It has been a long time since I have done one of these bags. I bought Mickey bags from Walmart. I plan on getting coloring books and crayons, invisible ink books, some snacks, what else do you Dis-ers recommend?

My kids loved those maze & dot to dot books. Thinking back, I remember giving my son (5 at the time) the huge LEGO mini figure sticker book (from Walmart) on the plane to Disney and he loved it. My daughter (3 at the time) had the Disney mini sticker and color books from the Target dollar spot, not sure if they still have those.

I grabbed mini activity books from Dollar General, they have stickers and crayons too. Plus they were only $1. Maybe a mini etch a sketch? I've seen those on keychains and they could use that over and over. Possibly take a few items and wrap them inside the bag and let them open each item when they cross over state lines??

I always make a travel bag for my grandson, coloring book, crayons, stickers and sticker book, magna doddle, small toys whatever he is into at the moment... like dino's, cars, action figures, Hit the dollar tree, target dollar zone, and wal-mart of course

Since they are driving... when our DD's were young and we would drive long distance, I always packed a ball or Frisbee in the bag and at rest areas let them burn off some steam, so that they did not start getting on each other nerves or ours...

Another thought for each day is to give them some small new toy or something for them to do in line, some thing new will keep their attention, then at the end of the day, put it away... then something new the next day... You can make your own play packs...

One more thought... I would load up on i-pad, Kindle kids, some movies and such for the car ride, if you can let them each have their own this way no fighting on who is holding or not agreeing on the movie or game...

Target dollar spot often has lacing cards, which my girls like for the long rides. They had felt books at one point that are good for a long ride. Depending on how good they are at letter and number recognition, the dollar store flash cards are great, too. My kids will hold up a card and quiz each other (What letter does this start with, etc).

Crayola makes a dry erase crayon that, unlike the markers, cleans off of fingers quite easily. We laminate sheets where they can trace letters, shapes, their names, as well as seek-and-find, mazes, dot-to-dot, all free printables. At a rest stop, they can be erased and passed to the other kid, so you end up getting double the entertainment out of it.

We also laminate family photos from years past. They like looking through them and reminiscing (remember when we met Santa?!?).

When we took our very first trip, I made "kits" for my older child for the trip. Every several hours, I would plan to introduce a new kit. Each kit had something to color, a small toy or two from the dollar store, and a DVD, and other things I could find of interest to her. (DVDs were ones we already had, but wanted to keep things new.) She enjoyed the kits, but I discovered I went overboard. She turned out to be a good traveler. She kept herself busy as long as I just had the stuff in the back for her to play with. DVDs, coloring books, barbies, iPad, etc.

For our second trip, the older one was 7. I printed out blank maps of the Gulf States and wrote a word bank in the margin. Each time we were about to drive through a new state, I would tell her to watch to see where we would be next. This gave her a starter in geography skills, and she absolutely loved it. She labeled and shaded in each state as we crossed that state's line. She looked forward to seeing what was next. I plan to do that on the next trip also, although she now likes following our path on an old fashioned map. It's a good visual of our progress.

Normally, we limit screen time to 30 minutes per day on school nights (full movies on weekends, but not much), but we don't limit screen time on road trips. This makes binge watching of Disney movies a real treat. Older child isn't as big of a movie watcher; younger one binges for much of the trip.

Check out the Bunch ems travel easels.

My daughter loves the Bunch ems travel set, and they keep her busy on road trips. They just have to be trusted to not put them in their hair! :)

You can order the Bunch ems travel easel from Target or Amazon and I think they are about $10. Might be pricier than what you’re looking for but it’s a big win in the car for us!

I will be doing this same thing for my fiance when we fly to WDW for our honeymoon in 2020. Something to keep him busy and occupied and not focusing on the flight and why we aren't there yet. (I'm totally getting him a coloring book, and his own pencils, because he might break mine.)

We got these erasable boards called boogie boards, they were the best thing they erase when you a hit a button. We took them everywhere even in lines in the park. The kids wrote on them played games
