Activities for kids to do at the table?

I took a quick look in this forum, but couldn't find a thread about this, so here goes:

Do the Disney restaurants have something for the kids to do at the table? Like a little activity book and crayons or something like that? We have ADRs at WCC (dinner), TH (breakfast), Biergarten (dinner), Boma (dinner), CP (breakfast), Sci-Fi (dinner), Chefs (dinner) and CM (breakfast).

It does seem like there have been the crayons and coloring sheet - but I"ll tell you - I bring something for DD - We did the Draw a Character at Disney STudios - there (as well as in most gift shops) they had the Draw a _____ (Stitch, Mickey, Minnie) kit - with paper, pencil, erasers - This was a huge hit for restaurants for DD!!

She also is a huge reader and often carries abook about - its gotten out of hand lately tho - she doesnt interact she reads!!

Some of the wait times can be really long - and its hard to sit and do nothing, so I've taken to carrying a "bag of tricks"... also DD hasnt enjoyed hte :adult" food - so for instance we'd have a late adr for LeCellier - and I would let her eat a CS meal ( the old standby of McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries - which is NO longer there ) She then would be relaxed in the restaurant and would intereact while we wait for food - she wasnt starved!

When the kids were smaller we played, "How well do you know your family?" All of us would take turns asking questions. Then we would guess how each family member would answer. Then each member would tell their answer.

For instance: Which household chore is your least favorite? What is your favorite dinner? Who is your best friend? What do/did you like best about school....

This game works well for even the youngest children.

We also played 20 questions. This they have to be a little older or they don't get the whole question thing and just shout out answers.

As soon as they can read hang man is always fun or you can play pictionary. Just make up your own words. Or give the kids a category like food.

I always had a pencil or two, plain white paper, and some crayons in my bag.

I Spy is always a fun game to play. I did always try to keep crayons and small memo pads of paper in a baggie in our backpack as well. Tic-Tac-Toe. Simple games that can easily be stopped when food arrives. These work well waiting in lines too.

Now that my DD is older I bet we'll have discussions about what we did, what we want to do, what we should do next, etc. while we wait.

Dinner tends to be the only meal that entertainment is a huge concern, so at night DS4 brings his own backpack of fun. last year I gave him a small gift each night before dinner- usually a Cars vehicle (purchased at home) and he would play cars with the other kids during the meal. A small doodlepro is another great thing, we take turns playing hangman, drawing pictures etc.

By CM, do you mean Cape May character breakfast? I know they give the children boxes of crayons and the "tablecloths" are really white paper that they can write all over. Everyone at our table, kids and adults also, had a great time writing all over the paper tablecloth. I thought it was a really fun idea.
