Do all the activities for children only happen in the kids clubs? Do I have to register my DD(9) in order for her to participate in any of the activities or do some things happen in other parts of the ship that you do not need to register for (other things besides the pool, basketball, etc...) things like crafts?Thank you :teeth:

Hello,

You do have to register your DD for the childrens activities in the Oceaneer Lab. That is where the childrens activities are based out of. They give you a pager in case your child needs you and they also have a Personal Navigator for childrens activities as well so you can help your child plan their activities. From what I have heard most children are usually more busy than their parents on this cruise.

She will have to be in the Club/Lab for the activities scheduled there HOWEVER there are several "family" activities that you can do together.

Look at www.dcltribute.com/navigators and check out the kids and teens navigators for your cruise. Also check out the link to on that site to Incognito's site. There are some more recent Navigators there.

No matter, you will all have a great time.

You seem reluctant to register your DD for the kid's club. I'm not sure why, or perhaps I am reading it wrong. We went as a large family group with my two sisters one with two daughters and one with three.

One of my sisters had just gone through a divorce and her two daughters had become quite clingy and both insisted that they would never go to the kid's club. My sister told them that they didn't have to go but that they were going to register. She registered them both the first night. As it turned out a day later, one of her daughter's changed her mind after hearing about the activities and wanted to go, so no problem she was all registered. The younger daughter never did go, but she was registered just in case. Just because you register, doesn't mean you have to go.

Do you have to register on the first day? Is this the only time you can register? Thanks.

You can register any time and you can even register on the DCL website after you finish paying for your cruise.

Another advantage of actually checking in with the club on the ship is that you get a pager and the kids get a wristband with their stateroom and other important info on it. This allows any crewmember to assist your DD if she accidentally gets spearated from you on the ship. Although maybe not as critical for a 9 yo, I highly advise this for the younger ones. This is a great safety precaution since in my experience, little ones can "dart away" at a moments notice.

I also suggest that you have an agreement with your DD that she go to at least ONE activity in the clubs each day. She can pick the activity but she has to choose one. This will give you a little Adult time which we all need from time to time.

Hope you have a great time.
