This will be my family's second trip to DW. We went when my DS was 4 months old and now he's 18 months. I know he will appreciate it much more this time as he is walking and talking. We talk about all the Disney characters every day, as our trip approaches. I'm wondering if anyone has any specific rides or activities at DW that they think he would enjoy. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! :flower:

Fantasy Land at MK is probably the best choice, where he can get the most out of the attrations. Also Mickey's Toontown - lots of characters there and it's really geared for the little ones. Donald's Boat is a great little play area with squirting "fountains" and a nice foam play base. Good place for the adults to rest weary feet while the kids play!!
Also, if he's into the Disney Channel, be sure to catch Playhouse Disney Live on Stage over at MGM - another one geared right to the little ones. There aren't seats, it's a big carpeted floor and the kids can get up close to the characters.
It's a great age to really introduce him to WDW! Enjoy every moment; his expressions will be priceless and you'll never forget them.

We took our little guy in December. He was 18 months old. His favorite things -

-Birds! He loved all the birds.

-All the fireworks shows, but especially Illuminations. He was just beside himself with excitement through the whole thing.

-Transportation: Boats, Busses, Monorails

-The Petting Zoo at Fort Wilderness

-The Fountain of Nations at Epcot

-The resort swimming pool and the squirty play fountain at the Grand Floridian

-Playing in the sand on the GF beach

-Elevators! He would jump up and down and squeal for joy any time we got on (or near) one.

_The bridge over the stream in the Wilderness Lodge lobby

-The Festival of the Lion King show

-Enchanted Tiki Room

-Character meals. He loved all the characters, but especially Pooh and Pals who he recognized and knew by name.

-Watching and playing with other kids

-Favorite Rides: Dumbo, Safari, Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination, Pooh, Jungle Cruise

Hope that gives you some ideas! We had such a great time!!

My DD was 18 mo old on our last trip and she LOVED it. I do have this tip- we got the pictures printed up into a little spiral bound book for about $6 at snapfish.com (though I'm sure you can do it elsewhere). Our little one still loves to look at the pictures and tell me which ride is pictured or kiss the characters in the pictures. I don't know how much she remembers, but it sure is cute to watch since I remember all the fun times.

Also, our little one liked the shows like Tiki birds and Country bear Jamboree, but the favs were Pooh and Dumbo. Go to FantasyLand early as the lines can be slow for some of those rides. She also loved stopping to watch the shows and street entertainers. Have fun!!

we've been taking our kids since they were both 18 mos old - and continue - and we found that anyplace that there's outside entertainment the kids love it - one time ourside animation in mgm - there was a jazz band - and my daughter didn't want to leave - all she wanted to do was dance to the music - it was so cute - and we have it on video (remember to bring lots of film and video) and in epcot both of my kids love the shows around the countries - most people only go to mk - but we've taken them everyplace (even into the land to see the plants) - so go to where you want and just keep the tempo at their pace -
