Activities after checkout

Our flight on the last day doesn't leave until 5:00. I guess we'll be picked up by DME at 2:00 at AKL. Since checkout will be earlier, and I'd love for DD to be able to squeeze in her favorite thing one more time, will all of our valuables be safe at the resort? We'd need to leave all of our luggage including carryons (i.e. laptop).

I have done this many times and never had a problem. You can leave your carry on luggage with the same people dealing with the checked luggage - just let them know. I forget exactly what they do - maybe put a different tag or sticker on it - but you'll be able to get it once you go out to the ME stop at your resort.
