I just received our package from our TA and was under the assumption that we pick up our tickets at the hotel. However, I just read on another thread that you have to go to DTD to activate them. Can anyone help? Thanks.

That other thread was probably talking about Annual Passes. If you buy an AP ahead of time, you get a voucher in teh mail which must be activated before you can go into a park with it. Downtown Disney is one of many places you can activate an AP voucher.

Regular Magic Your Way passes, however, do not require activation. If they are part of your package they will probably be coded onto your room key cards when you check in. But you definitely don't have to go to Downtown Disney to activate them!

Thanks that's a relief. I didn't want to have to go to DTD right when we get there. I read that you are from Baltimore; we are flying out of BWI. Any suggestions?

I just flew out of BWI in December; it was pretty painless, but when I flew in December they were making everybody take off thier shoes and jackets, wheras in previous years they only made people do that if they had metal on the shoes or jackets.

Just as with flying from any airport, you should make sure to have your boarding pass ready before you get to the security line, and if you are travelling with a laptop make sure you get it out of the bag before you get to the belt.

It'a also a good idea to empty your pockets and put the contents into your carry-on bag so you won;t have to deal with putting pocket change, keys, and other loose items into one of those little gray tubs.

And if you are carrying film with you, refer to my page below on safely getting your film through the x-rays:
