Activating AP without Member present (answer found)

I am a DVC member and traveling in 2 weeks with my kids and DD's BFF. Her parents are also DVC members and they have purchased her a Platinum AP with the DVC discount. Several years ago she traveled with us and we were able to activate her AP no problem but I honestly don't remember what she had with her or if the rules have changed. Here is the current situation...

She is 18 years and still lives at home as she is a HS senior so I know she is eligible to receive the discount on the AP. Is a copy of her parents' DVC card and a copy of one of their IDs sufficient? Will she need a copy of the payment card or will she need the actual card? She has the confirmation number and the AP is showing in her MDE.... It just needs to be activated.

Ok... Gonna answer my own question in case it can help someone else out at some point lol

I called DVC and was given the following info...

Call DVC and inform them that a household member will be picking up the AP without the member. They will create what is called a "Magic Number" that informs will call at GS that this was discussed and arranged with DVC. In order to create the Magic Number, they need the AP order number. The Magic Number, along with the physical ID/DL of the AP recipient, and copies of the ID/DL and DVC membership card of the member ordering the AP will be needed to activate an annual pass.

Just to be on the safe side, I would make a copy of the payment card, too.

I specifically asked this and was told it wasn't necessary. But I agree, I'd rather have too much stuff than not enough

It shouldn't be needed since they are putting info on file, but I have learned the hard way that easy is not always what happens.

Yeah it seems that some just want to make it difficult lol. I have told her to make sure to bring it just in case. I will be upgrading my Gold to Platinum (or Premium or whatever it is called lol) . Hopefully it will be a smooth transaction. We plan to do this at Disney Springs the night before we the hit the parks as to not hold us up in case we have any issues.
