Activating Annual Pass question

I didn't know where else on the forum to ask this, so moderator you can feel free to move somewhere else more appropriate.

I'll be staying at BWV soon. This will be the first time this year since my old AP expired last December. I have my renewal exchange certificate that I'll need to activate my new AP. My question/issue is that my first day reservation is at EP. However, the International Gateway does not have a guest services window or booth there, so am I going to have to walk/boat over to HS just to activate my pass? Also AP services told me on the phone that they should be adding 117 days to my original pass end date of 12/31/2020. Has that been others experiences with activating their APs this year?

Yes, there is a Guest Relations at the IG entrance to Epcot.

Yes, WDW has extended APs by the length of the closure period, plus maybe a month. I don’t know the exact number of days but it was much discussed on the TPAS forum; I think there is still an active AP “refund” thread going.

Thank you very much for responding. I guess i havent stayed at the BW in a few years and dont remember any window setup at IG for tickets or Guest Services, only the security check points......my only excuse for not remembering must be old age. And thanks for confirming the add on days to my renewal...I guess I'll find out the exact when I get there....a week from today!

We stayed at Yacht club in spring of 2019, and were able to activate our annual passes at the international gateway the night we arrived, so we could go to magic kingdom the next day and not wait in a long line in the morning. The guest services at that time was just 2 stations, small off to the left. I’m sure it’s been redone since the gondola station opened.

Yeah there have always been ticket/guest relations booths at the IG to Epcot.

As to your AP question, it’s a little confusing. Did your original AP expire in 12/2019 or does it expire 12/2020? Then you have a renewal certificate, if it expired in 12/2019 did you renew it during the renewal period and take advantage of that discount? If yes, your current AP (the certificate you purchased to renew your expiring 12/2019 AP) would have become active the day after your AP expired and would currently be running regardless of if you have been to a ticket booth to activate it. But since it ran through the closure period, an additional 4 months should (and will) be added on to the expiration date of this new ticket. So if it was to expire 12/2020, it will now be good through 4/2021.

You may be good for first week of May because of the shortened February. You could wind up being very close to working out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I believe the extension was for 117 days, the length of time the parks were closed. Then Disney added an additional 30 days due to the loss of park hopping or something. Our APs that would have expired October 19 were extended to March 11.
