Arriving on a Thurs afternoon in August. Planning on MK after check-in, but now thinking Guest Services and lunch first at DTD may be much less crowded, less stress, and much less time. Not making lunch TS ADR until plane lands (or maybe earlier via Opentable). Just want to pin down the plans so I know what time to schedule FP in MK

You can do that, if you like.
Remember that the date on which you ACTIVATE a new AP (not the date on which you first USE the AP) will be the date that it expires at the end of its life.

So...which would be the quickest and least stressful option?

I would only do it at Disney Springs if you want to go there for lunch already. We activated ours there last time but we were already going there first for dinner
I wouldn't make a special trip out of it just to make it "easier" or else it won't be easier

Either one should be fine. I walked right up at TTC and did mine in 5 minutes. No problem.

I didn't realize you could do it at TTC . Can they also prioritize the tickets in MDE there?
