We have already bought our AP vouchers at the local Disney Store. We will be arriving at CBR around 6:00 PM, and want to eat, swim, relax, and get an early start for EE at MK the next morning. With young kids, it will be all we can do to get to MK by 8AM.

My question is this: Would it be worth our while to head over to Epcot guest services that first night to activate our passes so we don't waste time during EE at MK the next morning? How much time does it take with lines at opening?

I've never done mine at opening but I've done it at the International Gateway. It only took a few mins. since it was later in the day. If you have time I'd go on over and take care of that little chore then you are good to go the next morning. Be sure that everyone takes their ID with them.

I'd also do it the night before. When we arrived for ee on our trip in July and planned to buy activated AP's the system was down and they couldn't sell us the tickets....or activate them for those who had vouchers. It wasn't too long of a wait, but I think it was a good half hour of early entry that we lost. We had just arrived very early that morning...so we couldn't follow our own advice.

Definitely activate them the night before if it doesn't effect a future vacation! And make sure you have ID for all the adults in your party too.....especially when activating them, but also always make sure all adults are carrying ID with your AP's, because if your finger scans don't work they'll often ask to see your ID.

Have fun!

We were in the same situation, arriving on a Sunday and wanting to do EE at AK Monday morning. We were planning to go to the BW that first night anyway so on our way there we stopped at MGM and activated the passes. It only took about 10 minutes but I was glad we didnt have to deal with that in the morning.

There were six of us and it took at least a half an hour to do ours. May have been the gentleman working. I'd not take a chance of it throwing your morning schedule off. Just my opinion. Have an awesome time...we did!

If you have an AP rate at your resort you will need to have an activated AP in your hands when you check-in.

There is a Guest Relations office at Downtown Disney where you can activate your AP if you do not want to go all the way to one of the theme parks.

Curious about that last post re activating the APs before check-in. We're due to arrive in WDW at about 11 pm when we come down in December, so we called the CBR front desk this week and the cast member there said we could show the AP voucher at that time, and return later on our first 'day' with the activated AP. Has anyone had experience with a very late arrival like ours?

The information you were given by the CBR CM is correct. Most of the time the front desk CM won't even ask to see your AP. If they do and all you have is the voucher, most will simply accept that. There are a few that will do as your CBR CM has stated. They will check you in and ask you to return later to show the activated AP to the front desk. You should not have a problem at all.

On the same trip I mentioned before we had an AP rate at ASMo and checked in at 6am (drove overnight from SC) .....it was too early for us to get our AP's, and I simply asked that they check us in so we could get room cards and if they needed to see our passes I'd be happy to stop back and show them later in the day...before we got a room number. They didn't ask that we stop back at all...and we didn't even have vouchers. But our records probably showed that we are frequent visitors and previous AP holders...so that may have been to our advantage. If you have a voucher it should be no problem either.

As long as you're not clearly trying to get an AP rate without an AP it should not be a problem....and I really would have been happy to give proof of eligibility for my rate before they gave us our room. The only reason we checked in that early was so we could get in for early entry...since we were awake and didn't have anything else to do!

I'm sure they'll be quite understanding with a late arrival as well. I mean, what else can you do? You need a place to sleep!
