Acronym and Jargon Issues

Hi all. I'm relatively new here and am having problems with a few of the acronyms and terms. I've been able to discern certain acronyms via their context (family members, resorts, etc...). But there are a few that I am having trouble with and/or the benefits associated with them.

If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

DVC - I know it's the Disney Value Club but what is it? And what do people mean by "renting points"?

AP - ???

PIN discounts - ???

Bouncebacks - ???

If there are any other acronyms that you think I should know, I'd love a helping hand.

I'm going back to WDW in DEC and if I can find a way to get back ASAP (acronym I know), by using any of these inside tips, I'd love it.

I had similar difficulties when I first joined. Here's a link to a thread of common abbreviations. I would use the right click, then open in a new tab, so I could go back and forth between the two pages.

AP=Annual Pass or Annual Passholder
Bounceback=when you reserve your next vacation while you're still on your current vacation - there are usually discount associated with a bounceback reservation.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about "renting points" and am not entirely sure what "PIN discounts."

DVC is Disney Vacation Club~ their version of a timeshare program

AP is Disney's Annual Pass

Pin Discounts are discounts that are either emailed or mailed to you that are exclusive to you only

Bounceback Offers are offers that are usually found in the room you are staying in at a Disney resort. You can get a good discount if you book another future trip before you check out.

If you come across more, just ask, someone will be happy to explain, I'm sure~

If you "rent points" from a Disney Vacation Club member, you stay as if you were a DVC member yourself, at a DVC property (Bay Lake Tower, Kidani Village, the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West, etc.). It costs a certain number of points per night to stay at each resort, dependent upon room size, season, and view. You would then 'rent' the number of points needed from a DVC member.
