So, I originally booked a Merrytime cruise out of Galveston for Dec 7-13, 2021. I will be taking my mom, so we need a HA room. I booked 8602, a concierge 1 bedroom.
I am thinking of changing to Feb 26-March 5th, 2022 on the Fantasy in a regular HA veranda room #6088.
Some factors I already know:
Can drive to Galveston port (Which means not dealing with wheelchair assistance/walker storage etc at airport)
Changing to Fantasy allows me to lower cruise fares and possibly work in side trip to Disney
Fantasy cruise ends on my birthday
Galveston cruise has Christmas decorations and activities
Fantasy cruise has more interesting itinerary
Questions I don’t know:
Having never gone concierge, how much would I miss it? I booked it initially for ease of booking excursions etc. and thinking it might be easier with my mom to have the larger room even though I’m not sold on the aft location.
Key West was a main factor in booking the Galveston trip, and if it is voted by residents to ban cruise ships, it will be off the itinerary.
Weather and time of year—what is likelihood of rougher/calmer weather between these two.
Wonder vs Fantasy?
I am overthinking as usual and could use input if any other over thinkers need something else to ponder.
