okay, it must be contagious because I think I want to change a few of my ADRs. Opinions are MUCH obliged.. I will run down my line up

Arrive Sunday Sept 18th @ 11(ish) AM

Lunch -- Where ever in DTD. Thinking Wolf Gang Puck Express
Dinner-- Boatwrights as we are staying at POR.

Monday-- "Magic Kingdom Day"

Breakfast-- Crystal Palace

Lunch-- where ever we feel

Dinner-- Tony's

Tuesday -- "Animal Kingdom Day"

Breakfast-- Tusker House-- I am unsure about this one.. Our last trip was in 2004, and we had a breakfast at the Donald Breakfasaurus whatever.. It was AWFUL... Is this just that renamed in a different location? Is it wonderful, awful?? What. (please note that we just tried to be a little organized on this trip and kinda matching our dining places to our days.. it does NOT have to be in or near Animal Kingdom if you have a suggestion)

Lunch-- where ever-- thinking of the picnic, but have heard some bad reviews that it is a waste of a credit

Dinner-- Boma (one of my favorite places ever)

Wednesday-- Epcot Day

Breakfast--Akershus

Lunch-- around the world tidbits

Dinner-- Coral Reef

Thursday-- Hollywood Studio Day

Breakfast-- Chef Mickey's

Lunch-- wherev

Dinner-- 50's Prime Time??--- have heard SUCH mixed reviews of this place. Some love it, some hate it. I think we're really interested in the theming, and honestly my husband will eat a rubber boot on a slice of bread, but I like to think of myself as an amateur foodie.. lol. Advice appreciated, and other options.

Friday-- Magic Kingdom Day-- MNSSHP

Breakfast-- Kona

Lunch-- Don't know.. We figure we will want to have a mid day lunch that is more like supper, as we have the party that night.. But at THIS moment, have no idea where we'd like to go.

Saturday-- Chillin at the resort Day, Disney Quest

Breakfast-- Think I'll take stroll over to the french quarter for beignets.. But if you haven't noticed, we LUURRRVE character meals, and one of my fav. places is Cape May, and then there are others we have never been too that look awesome, like Ohana... ADVICE PLEASE.

Lunch-- whatev

Dinner-- who knows... please advise.. lmao. :rotfl:

Sunday- -Fly home too early to use any meal credits so shall use them up before hand in the previous days.. lol.

So that is it folks.. I think I want to change some stuff around. I would love some advice. :goodvibes

assuming you have the deluxe dining plan, right?

couple of notes/suggestions...if you are on the deluxe dining plan, and especially since you're going during September (VERY hot & humid!) you may
find you cannot begin to eat 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks. At the very least, when you book your reservations, make sure you have at least 5 hours from the end of one meal until the start of the next...with the deluxe you're getting appetizer, entree, dessert & beverage at your table service. That's a lot of food (Disney portions are mostly very generous.) When we do the deluxe plan, we much prefer to stick with 2 meals a day...usually an early lunch at table service place around 11:30 (so we get a nice sit-down break & A/C) and then a signature/ 2 TS place for dinner at 6:00 or 6:30. We rarely eat (or drink) the snack credits on deluxe even though we both have big appetites.

On to your plans: the picnic in the park is no more at Animal Kingdom...discontinued several months ago. So you will have to come up with something different. If you're on the dining plan, and want a mid-day break in the air conditioning, we really enjoyed Yak & Yeti. We never went to the previous breakfast at AK, but Tusker House is a full breakfast buffet...typical Disney breakfast buffet.

On your MNSSHP day...consider hopping the monorail and going to Grand Floridian Cafe or The Wave for your mid-day lunch...both have good food, relaxed restaurants...with the monorail ride, it's a nice park break too.

nope, we have only a basic dining plan.. Yes I know we are over when it comes to the TS, and we have planned accordingly.. :lmao: Now that we have free dining, I am even MORE okay with paying oop for some of my meals. I have just been reading up on Ohana, and it sounds like a place I'd really like to go to.. but it looks like I'd like to go for BOTH a breakfast AND dinner.. :rotfl: what to choose, what to choose....

Also, I am thinking that perhaps with a little switch here and tuck there, I can for instance instead of going to the 50's Prime time at all, just do a Quick Service that night for dinner, and the same with the Tuskerhouse... Perhaps just scratch a table service in general, and use one of my quick services for that as well... One thing to remember is that I have a 7 day meal plan, but we will only be 5 days in the parks.

well, looks like you have 7 TS credits (one per night) but I'm already seeing 10 TS restaurants on there. You might sit down with the menus on allears.net and see how much you're going to spend at all those extra restaurants...especially if you add a couple more. Could very well be that paying to upgrade to deluxe might be cheaper than paying OOP for those extra meals.

On your AK day I'd go with a snack-type breakfast or a really early breakfast at your resort, mostly because the weather will still be very warm in Sept and AK is NOT the park to tour in the heat of the day. You want to do the Safari and the walking Trails as early as possible, because most of the animals are more sensible than the people - they curl up and go to sleep during the mid-day heat. A noontime lunch at Yak&Yeti TS will make a nice break, and then Boma is indeed wonderful for dinner.

For your HS day - because you are a bit of a foodie - how about taking the boat from HS to the Boardwalk and trying Flying Fish for dinner? Or if you don't want to do a Signature, check the menus for Captain's Grill at YC (classic American) and Cape May at BC (non-character seafood buffet). 50s PT doesn't do anything for me either.

For your MK Party day, I'd agree with a later lunch, like around 2 pm, at one of the monorail resorts. GF Cafe and The Wave both sound good.

Breakfast at Ohana is popular for the characters but I prefer either a menu or a full buffet, not a skillet which is all you can eat but necessarily only includes a few selections. Dinner at Ohana is a completely different experience and is not to be missed. So for your Saturday resort day, how about getting your character meal fix with breakfast at 1900 PF and then dinner at Ohana?

I would really price out the difference between dxdp and sounds like you are focused on TS meals and for 3 extra meals you could probably upgrade and then get apps, mugs and extra snacks ( to take home):rotfl2: since you can not everything.

It would really depend on who is in your party but I figure the upgrade for adults is $33 and for kids it is about $9 so for your stay of 7 nights the extra would be $231 per adult or $63 per child given what you have it might be just a little more or about break even but would give you a lot more bang for your buck.

We used our extra snacks for prepacked items to use as small souveniors instead of having to pay for little things for coworkers etc and it was a lot of fun shopping with all those credits.

We loved TH it was my favorite character bk.

So I was thinking of this all day in work.. I was luckily stuck in a corner all day doing all my patients prescriptions, so had plenty of covert time to instead look up Dis stuff.. :rotfl2: (don't worry, all my patients got their meds) And I said to myself "I think you should upgrade to deluxe. It is going to save you cash"... but I wasn't thinking correctly when I did the math, and I only did it for ONE adult, and one child, so here I was thinking that my upgrade would only tack on roughly an extra $300..... umm.. yeah, no.. lmao.. it is about $1000... And that would take away the whole $900 I saved yesterday by getting free dining.. Even though we are totally the type of people who could DESTROY a DxDDP, I would rather save my money.. I am going to do some crunching, and really break down my plan above.. I am going to remove those that I am really not jumping up and down to go to, and just revamp it a bit.... I think Tusker House is getting the boot for sure.... 50's Prime Time may get the heave ho too. I shall keep you updated.. :upsidedow

I don't know about Tony's, as I really haven't eaten there, but there are a few places I'd choose before there...maybe Liberty Tree Tavern. I have loved the meal there every time, even though sometimes it gets mixed reviews.

We had a great meal when we did Tusker House a couple years ago.

I'm not sure that I would do dinner at Hollywood Studios. I enjoy the theming at Sci Fi Dine In, but food was so-so (good one if you are paying OOP). You might just head over to Kona for dinner. Or eat at Pizza Planet, that's fun even if it is Disney pizza.

For Friday, O'Hana for dinner! And Saturday, try Whispering Canyon Cafe. Alternately, 1900 Park Fare for either of those days.
