I had booked two rooms at the Parkvue Inn for mMarch 10 - 17 - and they booked me for the wrong month! I got a charge on my card today for the first night of rates. When I called,t hey said that I had to talk to the guy that made the reservations for me, and *hopefully* they can fix it and give me the rates they quoted when I made the reservations they messed up. If they can't accomodate me, What other hotels are within walking distance of the entrance? We're taking three very small children and one older, whiny child, so we want to be close enough to take naps in the afternoon without a half hour walk. Thanks!

(I am so panicking right now!:scared1: )

I'm afraid that I've heard nothing but horror stories about the place. I would seriously consider moving to a different hotel. The Best Western Park Place Inn is supposed to be good. I'll be staying there for the first time in April. My friend really liked the Anahiem Desert Inn and Suites. I've stayed at the Carousel and it was clean and comfortable. Also, a big favourite around here is the Howard Johnson. I think it's too long to walk with lots of little ones though.
There is a good map to see where all of the hotels are. Check one of Mary Jo's posts at the top of the board and you'll see the hotels there.
Hope that helps!

I have to agree about changing the hotel. I read the reviews, and was disgusted. Nothing good!I would check out BWPPI.

Check with Camelot Inn and see if they have a family suite available. The suite has 2 queens in one room and a king and sofa bed in the other room. There is only 1 bathroom but that didn't pose a problem for the 5 of us in January. We are going back again in April.
Good luck!

I called BWPPI and they're booked that week. :( Any other ideas would be appreciated.

ETA: I looked int o Camelot, too- Also booked.

(Still freaking out...)

Itinko is on the $$$. Nice and close, and you can't beat the view of Mickey Ds,(or the fireworks from the 4th floor pool).:thumbsup2
We'll be back in 08 (is it here yet???).

You can give Tropicana a try. They are owned by the same corporation as Camelot Inn. Another idea is to try "get away today" and see if they have anything available for those dates. Most of the Harbor hotels are listed in their brochure.

Stay away from ParkSIDE Inn and Suites - scary is the only way to describe that one.

We stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel before. Nothing special about the place or the room, but it was fine for sleeping and showering. We had a great view of DCA/TOT and could see the fireworks from the room :)

The HOJO seems to get good reviews on the DIS too.

check expedia, they book blocks of rooms, so sometimes the hotel shows as sold out but expedia still has rooms available.

I called the Parkvue back this morning and they said they still didnt' know about matching their current rates or refunding my money, and I would have to call back at noon. I decided it just wasn't worth it, and called Disney- which I should have done to begin with, I guess. I ended up booking Motel 6,I think the new one on Katella? We're actually saving money that way, so that's good. :) Its not as close as I would like, but we can use the shuttle or we can drive, not a big deal. Now I just have to call Parkvue back and tell them that I am not staying there- after they agree to reverse the charges. (If they don't I will call my CC company and contest the charges.)

Thank you so much, everyone, for your help!

**update** I called Parkvue and asked to speak to the manager, and the girl said, "Sure, may I ask whos calling?" When I told her, she said, "Oh. He's not available but you can leave him a message." I just filed a dispute with my CC company- obviously Parkvue's not going to refund the charges they shouldn't have made in the first place. Argh.

Good! I know how trying it is deciding on a hotel. I dont know how many times I have made and changed reservations! Just today I made reservetiions for the Candy Cane Inn, Im feeling confident about this one!

Definitley let your credit card company deal with this. Park Vue will NEVER refund your money. I had 2 rooms reserved and cancelled a full week ahead of arrival. Well they claim they never got the cancellation, even though I had confirmation emails. I was charged the first night for each room. Park Vue refused to reverse the charge. They said I had to deal with the company that handles their online reservations. After constantly going around and around with the reservation company and PV, I finally got a refund check from the ress. company.

For this reason I will never stay at Park Vue. I have no idea what the rooms or anything else is like but their customer service is non existent.

Howard Johnsons and Carousel Inn. Both were great rooms and just what we expected when we booked.

Sorry to hear you travel problems.
