Um....okay, thanks for giving me time to plan. lol. Seriously, though, I don't know what we're going to do. I was sort-of planning on Florida in April, but now.....I don't know. Discovery Cove and Aquatica will probably be too cold, so that's out. I guess it's WDW again? Can we even get a room at this late date?

I just checked Orbitz for 'next week' (not sure exactly what dates you mean) and did a fake search for Sun-Fri and there were some decent-looking rates for Value resorts and a few mods (POFQ and CBR).

I'm not sure I could get my fam to do a Value, but maybe they would try a Mod if that's all that was available. We've only stayed at the BC, so I have no idea what the others are like. I'll have to look around a bit today. Thank you!

I did notice that the deluxes were either sold out or seemingly at the high end of their rates (saw $500 ish for AKL). But that may just be Orbitz's inventory. (I tend to go to Orbitz rather than disney's site by reflex, a little less annoying.)

Really? I've never thought of looking there. As frustrating as the WDW site is at times, that may be a good idea!

Oh I didn't know that! Hmm...

Do you have time to get to a bookstore and/or do you have a Kindle? You could grab the Unofficial Guide to DCL, I think kindle version is about ten dollars, and you could make a pretty quick assessment that way. Passporter guide is also good, but no kindle version and I think they are between editions right now so not stocked in stores. (For me locally, anyway.)

I think those are the most romantic words I've ever heard!
I would have loved to have heard those words from my husband last year, before I went back to teaching full-time.

The nearest big bookstore is about 2 hours from me, so I'll look at the kindle version. I think there's a way to read it on my iPad. I"ll have to ask my dd. Thank you!!

There is! Just download the free kindle app for your ipad and then log into it with your Amazon login and password. Any kindle books you purchase with your Amazon account will appear in the app like magic.

Lol! I suppose you're right. :) Once I get over the panic, I'll be excited. I just normally like to shop around to get the best rates, while my dh isn't usually worried about that. He's a keeper!

I just got off the phone with customer service, and it looks like we could get a Treehouse Villa + park tickets for 5500 (5 days), or 6250 (6 days). That seems pretty good to me. Dh is worried that it'll take us forever to get to the parks, though. He wants me to check Swan & Dolphin, since they're closer to Epcot.

Ouch!

That is double what we typically pay for a 10-12 day vacation! Granted, there are only 4 of us and we go in off-peak times, but I cringed, ha ha!

Oh how I wish we had that flexibility to up and go - we typically (because of my job) have to plan at least 6 - 9 months out.

I hear ya. Every vacation we plan, I think "Ouch!" But, traveling with a family of 6 is expensive. Especially at Disney, where they're considered adults at 10! lol.

At those rates, I'd stay off site. You can rent a townhouse 10 minutes away in a gated resort with a heated private pool for $100/night. Save yourself some cash and still have a nice vacation.

May I ask where you look for Disney Cruises? Do you just call a travel agent? I tried looking on their website, but I'm a little unfamiliar with how to navigate it. Thanks!!

I just use the website, you can either click on the "search for a cruise" tab at the top, or on the side panel box you can enter your dates/information and see what comes up.

You can also use a TA, we use Caylie McCann at Small World Vacations. Using a TA will also give you an onboard credit ;)

Another way (which now I think about it may be best for you) would be to phone Disney direct (1-800-951-3532). You'll need 2 adjoining rooms for your family size and they'll be able to see what is available.

Have fun, whatever you choose!
