Ack! Four months, not six!!!

Here I am happily motoring along on my goal to lose 40 pounds before our cruise at the end of Jan. (I've lost ten lbs. -- 30 to go). I have six months to lose 30 lbs., - certainly possible, right? Wrong! Now due to too many reasons to list here, we're moving our cruise to the end of November!! Now I only have four months to lose those 30 pounds. I'm sure it's still possible, but not without really starving myself and exercising myself into total exhaustion!! So I either have to go really crazy to do it, or just scale back my goal and be happy with a 15-20 pound additional weight loss (which is nothing to sneeze at, I know, it's just not my goal for the cruise). Just had to vent a little here. :D
 
Hey, I certainly know how that feels! I'm cruising at the end of November too and it's coming up way too fast!

I started trying to lose weight earlier in the year thinking I would have a huge chunk of it off before the cruise got here but due to health issues I actually GAINED some weight! :( Now I'm trying so hard to get off as much as I can before the cruise. 6lbs. off so far with about 80 to go! :eek: I know there is no way I'll get that much off in the next 4 months but I don't think 30 is an impossible goal. I'm actually shooting for 50 myself, if I make it great, if not I'm still going to have a great time (and so are you! :) ).
 
Hey, Princess Michelle, you are actually going to be on the same cruise we're now going on (I'm assuming you're on DCL, right?)!!! I'll be the one passed out in a lounge chair on deck four with a book in one hand and a big drink in the other. :teeth:

There is a thread on the cruise meets board for everyone on that cruise but I don't think there has actually been a meet scheduled yet. Stop by and say hi to everyone! :)

If I see you on deck 4 I'll be sure to wake you up and say hi! Well, either that or steal your drink and run! LOL :teeth:

Just take it one day and one pound at a time. Just don't starve yourself or you will cause your metabolism to stop or slow down instead of loosing more.

That is 10 pounds a month. You will loose more in the beginning and less in the end. I lost a little less than 50 pounds from the beginning of June 2003-June 2004. I made my WW goal the end of May and made lifetime the end of June. That's longer than 4 months, but I lost the majority of it early on. It took me from early Dec-June to loose the last 10lbs. I also never dropped down to my lowest points once I went under 150lbs.

Michelle- It looks like you are well on your way to loosing. Congrats on the 6lbs!
