ACK! Fell asleep watching CSI...need a recap please?

The last thing I remember is the Prosecutor coming and telling Grissom the DA wants to run with what they have. He asked when all the evidence would be in, and Catherine said something like "not until all the reports are completed, in full." (or something like that).

The next thing I know, it is 10:30! You know, I only wanted to "rest" my eyes during a commercial.

So, did the husband do it? I am going to say, no. My guess last night was not the husband, but the boyfriend. Or, was it really an accident?

It was the daughter!

She hated her stepmother because she was hurting her dad. She had come home one day to see the SM in bed with another man and telling him how she was going to leave him. The daughter hid in a closet and called outside for the SM to come in, as she was about to go up the stairs the girl jumps out and hits her in the back of the head with a cane. She wasn't strong enough to do much damage so she had to hit her a few times.

It turned out that the father knew what the girl had done due to the timing of it all.

I thought the ending was not quite right though. The father and Catherine have a talk in the hallway, where Catherine tells him she knows that he was lying for the daughter and the daughter was lying for him.
Father then says "You will never be able to prove that" and it ends there! Okay, what ends up happening with the daughter? Does she get off? Does the father end up collecting on the insurance policy from the airlines or what?

Anyone here also think that Catherine "overacts" her parts a bit?

They showed the daughter being taken into custody, right? My guess is that the father got away with it and probably did get the insurance money.

I think Catherine *does* overact... and her lips look really weird this season! Collagen, anyone?"

Thanks! I knew it would not be the husband, because when the CSI's use "not all the evidence is in, you can't call him guilty yet" then you know the person is going end up being innocent.

Did the grandfather know it was the daughter? I mean, did she sneak out of his house?
