I will never buy one again. We have one that we bought 2 years ago and it has been nothing but trouble, thank goodness I bought the extended warranty from Circuit City. Twice it had to be sent back to Circuit City for repairs to something having to do with the power supply. Shortly after the Acer warranty expired, one of the hinges start cracking a tiny bit. Since the Acer warranty had expired we sent it to Circuit City. They said it was just cosmetic, accidental damage and they would not cover it, especially since it did not impact the performance. By 6 months later both hinges had completely cracked and the screen is now hanging on by a small wire. I have been back and forth with Circuit City and they refuse to do anything. I have sent letters to Acer but they don't even acknowledge them.
Circuit City insists that the problem is accidental damage, which it is not. The problem is that the laptop is so cheap that it could not withstand the daily opening and closing of the screen. If you can't tell by my tone, this is something that I am still very angry about. At one point a woman from Circuit City's executive offices called me and sent me a box to have the PC sent in for her to look at. Since then she has fallen off the face of the earth. Before it went back I spoke to her 4 or 5 times, now she doesn't answer phone calls, letters or emails. It's very frustrating.
I will never buy another Acer, and I will never shop at Circuity City again.
