I'm starting this to give me a little bit of accountability. When I was in High school, I was a cheerleader. I ate horribly, but with 2 or 3 practices and games every week, i was able to stay around 115 to 120 pounds. Then I started college. I gained a little bit of weight the first year, not 15 like a lot of people, but around 10. I lived on campus then so I still walked alot. Then, the next summer I got married and it all went down hill from there. I started eating like my husband does, a lot of really unhealthy stuff. So now, after a year and a half of marriage, I find myself at 160 pounds. I'm 5'2" so I know that isn't good. But my DH and I are working on being more healthy.
I'm the type of person who can't just change everything all at once. So I've decided to make baby steps. My first step is to stop drinking soda. I usually drink one or two a day and at 250 calories for a 20 ounce that hasn't helped my ever expanding waist line. However, I haven't had one in 5 days now and I really don't crave it anymore. That should save me about 1500 calories a week.
My next step will be to exercise at least 3 days a week. Just some sort of exercise. I've got to get moving. I like to work out, honest. I just have gotten out of the habit. Once I make time for it, I'll get started again.
Since my husband is serious about helping me this time (and shaping up himself) I really think I'll stick to it. My ultimate goal is to be 120 pounds, hopefully by my 21st birthday, June 18th 2006. We'll see how that goes.
