I'm starting this to give me a little bit of accountability. When I was in High school, I was a cheerleader. I ate horribly, but with 2 or 3 practices and games every week, i was able to stay around 115 to 120 pounds. Then I started college. I gained a little bit of weight the first year, not 15 like a lot of people, but around 10. I lived on campus then so I still walked alot. Then, the next summer I got married and it all went down hill from there. I started eating like my husband does, a lot of really unhealthy stuff. So now, after a year and a half of marriage, I find myself at 160 pounds. I'm 5'2" so I know that isn't good. But my DH and I are working on being more healthy.

I'm the type of person who can't just change everything all at once. So I've decided to make baby steps. My first step is to stop drinking soda. I usually drink one or two a day and at 250 calories for a 20 ounce that hasn't helped my ever expanding waist line. However, I haven't had one in 5 days now and I really don't crave it anymore. That should save me about 1500 calories a week.

My next step will be to exercise at least 3 days a week. Just some sort of exercise. I've got to get moving. I like to work out, honest. I just have gotten out of the habit. Once I make time for it, I'll get started again.

Since my husband is serious about helping me this time (and shaping up himself) I really think I'll stick to it. My ultimate goal is to be 120 pounds, hopefully by my 21st birthday, June 18th 2006. We'll see how that goes.

Welcome!! So glad to have a new journal to read for inspiration. :) My Hubby and I are dieting and working out together and man does it help to have his support! We take turns on who wants to be weak and who wants to be strong but it really helps to have him suporting me through the journey!

Can't wait to hear more about your journey. :)

Well, I've been doing ok I guess. All of my food choices haven't been great but a lot of them have which is much better than I was doing. I'm eating less than I was before, even if I'm not eating the best stuff. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing. I broke down and had a Sprite today but it wasn't even good. It made my stomach hurt which is probably good because I have no desire for one now.

Since I started school again I have two afternoons that I have a 2 hour break between classes. I plan on working out for about an hour both days. That way in order to make my goal of at least 3 days a week I only have to convince my husband to help me out once. So tonight I'm loading up my Ipod so I'll be ready on Thursday when I go back to school.

So things are going alright. I have a lot to work on but I'm making a little progress. Until later....

YAY! I weighed myself at the gym yesterday and I've lost 1.5 lbs this week! I haven't even been making big changes but the things I'm doing are paying off. It's really motivating. I worked out yesterday for about 30 minutes on the stationary bike. I didn't want to over do it on the first day. I did feel good afterward, tired but in a good way, you know?

My eating hasn't been super great, but wednesday night my husband and I went to the grocery and stocked up on more healthy things. We're not eating out almost everyday for lunch either which I think will make a pretty big difference in the calories we consume.

My husband's ex-girlfriend will be coming to town in a couple of weeks and wants to meet up with us. I've never met her and it gives me some motivation to lose a few more pounds before I do. ;) I know a couple of weeks won't make a big difference but it sure as heck will make me feel better. Until later...

Well yesterday was a good day for my husband and me. He got a pretty big raise at work. Unfortuneately, we had a little celebration at home and ate WAY too much! But I guess once and a while it's ok, and it was worth it because I'm so excited for him. I did pilates on Friday night and it felt really good. My stomach and thighs felt great after I finished so I think that will be something that I add in at least 2 days a week.

I'm really glad that I decided not to get a scale for at home. I think that I would be getting on it all the time. I'm constantly wanting to check my weight. But at the same time I know I"m the type of person that would get discouraged by a scale that isn't moving. So now I can only check two days a week when I work out at the gym at school.

I'm doing ok on making my newest goal of losing 5 pounds this month. I'm down 2 pounds now.

Until later...

WHooo hoooooooo on the raise and the loss. I agree that having a scale in the house is tough, I know I look at mine way to much and there are many times I wish that it wasn't in my bathroom or anywhere else in this house I've tried to put it sending me "get on me and see" vibes. :)
