Hi,
Has anyone ever used, or heard of, Ace Rent A Car? We will be traveling to Chicago in October to see our son graduate from Navy Recruit Training and we are looking for a great price for a rental car for 3 or 4 days. So far, Ace seems to be the best with a PT Cruiser for $21/day. I'm aware a shuttle bus is required to get to their lot but that is not a problem. We have just never heard of this company and would like some info on them. Thanks!

Do you really need a car for this trip? Chicago is a great town to not drive in. Even on the weekend they have massive traffic jams on the major freeways. I have travelled there a lot and if I do have a car it ends up parked downtown and I take the trains (or buses, and Chicago is a city with excellent bus service).

It is possible the folks over at tripadvisor.com might have info on the rental agency.

:thumbsup2 ITA!!! I live in a Chicago 'burb -- if you're going DT you might not need the car.

If you're going to see Navy Recruit Training, you're probably going up to Great Lakes...in which case you would definately need the car.

There is a Metra station pretty much right next to the Great Lakes Navy Base. I'd be tempted to not drive (driving in Chicago can be even worse than driving in DC), stay downtown someplace nice, and take the train (which I think runs on weekends too) up to the base.

Also, if you do drive consider flying into Milwaukee, it is just as close and traffic should be easier.
