Ace, Me, & the Guy with CP *An update on Bill Pg. 70*

My Mother, Ann, died March 18th, 1992 from complications of Breast Cancer.
Sadly, she had ignored the signs her body had given her and would have lived IF she had gone to the doctor in time.
I urge every woman in this group to do self exams, get mammograms, and ask family members to do the same.
I urge every man in this group to talk to the women in their lives about this disease.
Men are not immune from Breast Cancer either, if you think something is wrong go to the doctor please.

I miss my mom every single day of my life, don't make your loved ones have to miss you.

Today I signed up to take a virtual walk across the country to help women with breast cancer. It's a really cool idea. You get to make a character that walks and you check her progress thru the month of October. They are trying to get a million people to "walk''.
Check it out at https://www.galtogalwalk.org/

So sorry to hear about your loss. Let's hope this month's awareness and fund raising will bring us that much closer to finding the cure and getting rid of breast cancer completely. Big hugs to you.

Thank you mkluvsmickey, MRYPPNS, and MagiKitty for replying. I miss my Mom like I lost her yesterday.

I do have something to celebrate today though....

TinkAsh2001, Thank You!. I am glad you have your mom and your sister. It is very sweet of you to put that about your grandma in your signature.

As I have stated about 1000 times on here, Bill and I are truly opposites.

I am looking online every day to see if they have updated which soap stars are going to be there and he is saying things like “we will have a good time no matter what”. Yes, that is true, but I want to PLAN, PLAN, and PLAN some more. The reason I do this when I said I want to take time to smell the roses this trip? It is mayhem at SSW. Overzealous fans will run over their grandma’s to get close to the actors.

Case in point, last year on the second day of SSW we were in the wheelchair section so we could see the motorcades and interviews on the stage by the Sorcerer Mickey hat. There was a wheelchair section closest to the stage, then a barrier, then enough room for the regular MGM parade, then another barrier for more wheelchair seating. That is where we were. A very sweet CM talked to us several times that day and informed all of us that after the regular parade the barrier would be taken away and they wanted us row by row to move directly up behind the other people in front of us. Ok, that was very clear directions right??

Well as soon as the barriers were lifted we started going to where we were told to go. All of the sudden people from off to the left start trying to run over there with chairs to be closer to the stage. Bill was already where he was supposed to be, I was getting ready to join him and was cut off about 5 people. I politely asked them to move and one of them started screaming at me that they had been in the other section, therefore, they should get the better seats. I was truly shocked by this and told her what the CM had told everyone, she still kept screaming and was trying to move her grandmother that was in an ECV over to where I was to sit by Bill. Grandma wasn’t going fast enough and started to get yelled at too. That was too much for me, I told her to go back to where she belonged and if she didn’t like it, she could go yell at a CM. By this time the people that we had been sitting next to half the day joined us and told her where to go (and not as politely as I did). She went back to where she had been yelling at her grandma the whole time for not hurrying the H*** up :scared:.

So I like to plan where we are going to be and when on SSW days. We are going to be there at rope drop for the day we want to see the motorcades and interviews and hopefully be closer to the stage. Many people are fighting for fastpasses to get autographs in the morning so we might have a chance to be where we want to be. We don’t’ care about autographs and Bill thinks it is silly standing in line for 2 hours just to get one so we can get a picture with someone. We will try like we did last year and wing it :rotfl: .

At this point I am still waiting on Susan Lucci chat club breakfast tickets to go on sale :surfweb: . This is the one of the last pieces to my planning puzzle. There are usually about 30 soap stars at this event. As of today they have 23 confirmed. Bill’s favorite, Michael E. Knight (Tad, All My Children) is not one of them yet :sad2: . I am hoping the list and schedule will come out this week.

Next installment… Our itinerary, or at least the itinerary for right now??

I wonder what's taking them so long?! Good luck with the ever changing itenerary. Wing it?!

Sounds like some crazy soap fans!! :scared1: Look out!!!

I haven't watched any soaps for years. My mom and nana always watched Days of our Lives so I got into that for a while in college. :)

I've been across town baby sitting for my niece and nephew the past couple of days and was very happy to find not one but two new installments waiting for me today. :cool1:

I'm so glad to hear things went well with the "future" in-laws!

Thanks also for the info on the SSW - as this will be our first time attending I've been stressing out over what to expect. One minute I'm excited and the next I'm terrified. They've started showing some scenes of last years event between the soaps this week. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I keep telling myself "take a deep breath and go with the flow!" I'm looking forward to seeing a few familiar "DIS" faces in the crowd.

Here is a picture from where we were seated that day:

After they took the barriers away we were supposed to walk directly forward behind those people on the other side of the car. We intend on being in that area already before the parade starts this year :thumbsup2.

Last year the info was out already, so it is stressing me out. We do need an itinerary, it just makes things easier.

(P.S. I do know when the breakfast tickets go on sale, I am just keeping my mouth shut about them because there are only 125 available :rotfl:)

Some of them are crazy. I have heard that people stay in their cars all night to get in line early or get up ridiculously early to get in line. We have a routine so I am not going to change it that much just to see some tv stars, well maybe we will change it just a little :confused3 .

I'll have to check out the list so I can tell you who's lock of hair I'd like you to swipe!:lmao: :rotfl2: (Forbes Marsh?)Nash goes right? Hmmmmm.....;)

It seems like you did pretty well last year with winging it last year, so why not do it again?! You guys have good luck with characters and actors giving you attention!
