Accuracy of Touring Plans crowd calendar?

I am wondering if people feel that the crowd calendar from Touring Plans is accurate? I'm panicking a bit about their predictions for crowds of 10 out of 10 for the Sunday of Martin Luther King weekend.

thank so much!

Touring plans used to be very accurate, but something changed a few years ago, and I haven't found them to be accurate since. If you want an accurate crowd calendar, check out easywdw.com

Touring plans takes a look at how they did on a daily basis. If you are a member and have access to their crowd calendar information, you can look at any day in the past and see how close their predictions came to reality. They're pretty spot on. Don't forget that they are measuring actual attraction wait times, and not more subjective things like how crowded a park feels or how long you had to wait for a bus. Wait times are just about the only measurable and trackable feature that predictions can be based on.

I follow EasyWDW.com's predictions. To me they seem more accurate than the ones on Touring Plans.com

Do these crowd calendars not take holidays into account? I've seen two now that have MK as a suggested "green" park on Easter Sunday. The only "red" park that day is HS because of EMH. Maybe I'm wrong, but I figured with the Easter parade in MK, and the Egg Hunt and Flower and Garden Festival stuff in Epcot that those two would be the most crowded on Easter Sunday.

You have to look at the overall number too. At any number, there will still be the better and worse parks for that day. If they're all going to be "insanely crowded" then the park with EMH still ends up the least desirable.

Epcot can take in a lot of people and not feel busy due to the sheer size of it. I think the Magic Kingdom is not a red park because so many people visit in on Saturdays. Plus with EMH happening at the Studios, a large number of resort guests will head there instead.

Well that's cool then! I'm planning to split the day between MK and Epcot!

Numbers are numbers- and statistics can't give an opinion like those of us on the boards can. Statistics look at historical data and project crowd levels and attraction wait times into the future based on that data. I would go with the site that has the most accurate historical data and gets closest to their predictions. My opinion is that touringplans.com has the best information based on their in depth use of historical data and real time information coming from their members currently in the park- but that's just an opinion. Look at how the different sites come up with their information and pick the one that's right for you.

I follow easywdw instead and have always felt that their predictions were very accurate

Another vote for EasyWDW here! For the Sunday of Jan 17th Josh has the parks at a level 7 (out of 10) which I would say is probably accurate for MLK weekend. Magic Kingdom is a recommended park for 1/17 based mainly on the fact that Saturday and Monday will likely be the busier two days out of that 3 day stretch.
