Hi everyone!

I am trying to plan a trip for August 2026. Last time we went to WDW was August 2022 and before that it was 2017…

We went from FP+ to Genie+LL to LLMP/LLSP/LLPP.

I love planning my holidays but now I am overwhelmed. My FOMO is trying to convince me that ETPE+EEH+LLPP+LLMP+LLSP all in one day is the only way to go (my bank account obviously does not agree) but I’ll be dead after one day…

I am running all kind of scenarios...

I theoretically can plan 2 days for each park + 2 days of waterparks. If I book a value hotel, the difference will pay for LLPP once in MK and once in DHS. But… should I book a deluxe hotel to get access to Extended Evening Hours? Should I aim for an after hour event in DHS or Epcot instead? Will I be satisfied if I ride RotR only once? Should I buy a LLSP on top of the LLPP? Or should I do LLMP+LLSP similarily to what I did in 2022?

I am lost… I have time to study, elaborate scenarios and evaluate what’s best for me, my husband and our teenage daughter. But if you have any advice, I’ll take it. Thanks!

Or you can wait in the standby line. People always forget that. :D
That’s what I do if there’s no LL line. But I really want to avoid this, especially for the most popular rides. My anxiety rises very quickly waiting in line…

Nothing at WDW is a must do.

Not. One. Thing.

Disney is very good at convincing us our Vacation Is Ruined if we don't have this experience or that extra. Worse, the DIS planning boards (and the Disney online ecosystem generally) conflates "more attractions" with "more fun."

And, none of it is true. Most of my very best Disney memories happened in unexpected ways, and an extra ride on TRON or Guardians would not have changed that.

Thank you! I know you are right. I absolutely know it. I just need to convince my eff-up brain now 😅

So either get PP or MP and SP. There is no need to get all three.

The other thing to keep in mind is you're travelling in August, one of the 'quieter' times of the year. We visit each August for a longer period of time (similar to what you are planning) and don't find the need to purchase any extras.

We purchased LLMP for MK one day last Aug and while it was nice to have one day of shorter waits, it really was not 'needed', just nice to have.

Thank you! I know that’s a mistake I did last time, in August 22. We did 2 full days per park. Every day, I was buying the LL. For GotG, we rode it 2 times each day (virtual line + buying LL) and I was optimizing each Genie+LL+rope drop, redeemable experiences for LL that was down, extended evening hours (we were staying in a deluxe hotel) and MNSSHP etc. We are not a fan of meet&greets.
We had such a great time. And I know that’s we did not need that much time on my phone all day long (I had a power bank etc) but I am so scared that it will not be as fun this time.
I need to let go of this idea and convince myself that 1 day in each park with LLPP + 1 other day without will be even greater.

If it's in the budget, this is what I would do. Maybe add MNSSHP if interested. But I am not a go-go-go, keep going on rides kind of person, so our vacation styles may be a lot different.

You can do a lot if you rope drop or stay late in the parks. I hit HS around 830 pm this past Saturday with park close at 10 pm . Did MMRR, TSMM, bought a Death Star popcorn bucket, got sorta stuck on MFSR. I could have popped in line for Rise but I didn’t want to do it with my park bag plus a death star. If you are going to be in the parks all day, I would not pay for deluxe hotels. This August they moved evening extra hours from MK to 6-8 pm at AK which aren’t useful compared to 10-12 am at MK

We did a lot of experiences last time. Including build droids and make our own lightsabers. That was fun on the flight back to Europe 😜. I am a go-go-go ride person and my family follows but I think we can have a slightly more relaxed pace.

You are massively overthinking all of this. You have 2 days in each park?? So 8 park days in August? You will have more than enough time do everything multiple times. Get a park hopper instead and simply do multipass each day and get a few single passes if you want. Easily can get 10+ rides per day with MP if you're hopping (plus anything you want standby). August is quieter - you're far better off taking advantage of early entry and right before closing when lines are short. Absolutely no need for premium. No need for deluxe. If you don't care about money and truly can afford it sure - splurge on whatever you want. But if I had 8 days in August - I'd not be worrying at all about how to fit things in.

Thanks for your answer. Already have park hopper + water parks for the whole 10 nights stay but I rarely use the park hopper option, I find the park-to-park transfers inefficient.

Wow, that’s a lot of acronyms.

We find the parks are more enjoyable in the evenings when lines start to get shorter. Just be aware that posted wait times are intentionally inflated in the evenings to discourage late riders.

We get multi pass each day and can get 8-10 passes pretty easy. We’ve never purchased a single pass as we can hit those attractions a few times later.

You used Rise as an example. On our last visit, we hit that one 80 minutes before closing and were able to ride 3 times and still made it to Fantasmic. I’ve got tons of similar examples from other headliners too.

Save the single pass money for Dole Whips.
