Soarin’ Around the World has stood in DCA since the park opened in early 2001. However, according to Google maps, it’s recently moved — seemingly of its own accord — to the M&Fs parking structure. Can anyone verify and also do FPs still work? See the pic below.

Google has some very interesting ideas about DLR... One of my favorites posted here was the directions Google Maps gave to someone looking to get to the DLH from the 5 South fwy. Google told this person that the shortest route was to drive down Main Street. :)

This happens a lot with Google Maps. It just means that someone in Disney is not monitoring Google Maps. Its very easy to correct, I've done it for clients. There is a button at the bottom of the map to report map errors. You click on it and it activates the pin, and then you drag the pin to the correct location and then submit the correction.

I think you need to be logged into to the Google My Business account for the business you want to correct the location for. I've only ever done it for clients and not a random place.

I live in the Netherlands and landed at Amsterdam airport, which is about 15 minutes (by train) from Amsterdam city. We landed on a runway close to the airport. I turned on my phone and opened Googlemaps to see which runway. According to Googlemaps I was driving through the high end shopping street of Amsterdam city center, the plane was parked near the Royal Palace on Dam Square :P

Do not trust everything the internet tells you ;-)

Several years ago one of the mapping services (I don’t remember which one) gave directions from Chicago to London. It advised travelers to drive to the East Coast... and then swim the remaining ≈ 3,200 miles to the English coast. I swear this was true, although I’m sure it was intentional and meant as a joke.

Soarin’ isn’t the only ride that’s been like that recently. A few weeks ago, I noticed Hyperspace Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Grizzly River Run, and I think a bunch others in the parking structure in google maps. Don’t worry. It’s not true. Trust the map on the Disneyland app instead.

thats just laziness from Disney. Its very easy to correct Google Map errors, someone in marketing just needs to take 10 minutes to fix it.

I noticed this the other day. Thought I was losing my mind!

Years ago, I put my USA address into google maps and asked for directions to a friend's house in Australia. Part of the instructions were to kayak from one place to another.

I remember that as well. When I heard about it I tired to see if it was true and it was.

Sometimes I wonder , like you said it's intentional, if they want to see if people catch it. If it goes viral it creates buzz for them.
