I am sure this has been asked a thousand times...however, i have had weight loss surgery. my real question is about buffets and special show packages. I can barely eat more then about 4 or 5 ounces of food total at a sitting, but i do not want my kids to miss out on there favorite dining spots....will Disney allow me to pay the childrens rate or some type of reduced rate?...I know i should call but i heard that people often get one answer then when they arrive at the restaurant are told something different?

Just wondering of anyone elses experiences or knowledge!!....(by the way 130 pounds and counting)

In general, no. You will pay the regular adult rate. You may get some reports of exceptions being made (apparently in the past you could present a doctor's note and be charged less, that seems to have been discontinued) but those are exceptions and not the rule. There have been several reports of guests being charged the full price at buffets/dinner shows when they are physically unable to eat at all.

Probably not. It seems that Disney has gotten more strict with this. It never hurts to ask though.

I know that this will probably be the only story you get but my aunt fought cancer and because of the radiation can't eat many things especially meat. When we went as a large family group in 2008 they did not make her get the DDP with the rest of us (13 of us in 3 rooms (one under 3)). Furthermore, when we went to Chef Mickey's she explained her situation and they allowed her to bring in a cup of soup from elsewhere and did not charge her. That's just what we experienced FWIW.

You can always ask. But they probably will not accomodate you in this way according to everything I've read here.

Even 10 year olds pay adult prices, & many of them "eat like birds".

I wouldn't expect to get to pay a lower price when kids that age have to pay adult prices.

Congratulations on the weight loss!
